Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
All of our litters are socialised with our adult dogs and raised with Absolute Dogs training and games, including crate and toilet training. This training allows them to be fully prepared to enter their forever homes.
Health
All puppies are wormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks and are fully vaccinated and microchipped before going to their new homes. We begin solid feeding at 3 weeks of age using a combination of raw and dry puppy food to promote good gut health and a diverse appetite. We also also perform ENS (early neural stimulation)…
Home environment
Our puppies are born and raised in our home, meaning they are exposed to all the usual sights, sounds and smells of everyday family life. Our puppies have regular play time outdoors with our family pets.
Included with our puppies
All Fyrebourne puppy packs include worming tablets, flea and tick prevention, puppy info booklets, feeding and training recommendations, including online resources, vaccination certificate and microchip documentation. All litters are ANKC registered.

Genetic Test
Acral Mutilation Syndrome (AMS) is a genetic disease that causes affected dogs to compulsively lick, overgroom and bite their paws. This can cause recurrent injuries and infections. The condition can be extreme and even result in the dog being euthanised if the signs cannot be controlled.
Genetic Test
This is a rare genetic disease affecting Cocker Spaniels. It can cause wobbliness and incoordination in the hindlimbs, with eventual progression to paralysis and difficulty breathing. It usually only affects older dogs and progression is slow over several years. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Bernard-Soulier Syndrome (BSS) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by abnormally large platelets in low numbers, meaning an affected animal cannot form clots properly after tissue damage. It can lead to life-threatening bleeding issues following surgery or injury. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) is a genetic condition mainly affecting Retrievers and Spaniels. It results in the dog collapsing after periods of intense exercise, even if they are normally able to cope with lower levels of exercise. There is a DNA test available which can indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Canine Phosphofructokinase (PFK) Deficiency is a genetic disease resulting in low levels of the PFK enzyme. It can result in extreme muscle fatigue, muscle cramping and severe anaemia. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder
A little about us
Since the age of 4, I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian. I've always loved animals and throughout vet school and my career I discovered that my passion was more specifically for dogs and all things dog sports :) I competed in agility with my border collies and then moved to the UK with them.
Why we got involved in breeding
I was lucky enough to meet some working Cocker Spaniels in the UK. Once I had fallen in love and knew I was moving back to Australia, there was nothing else I could think of than bringing these divine dogs back with me. Breeding wockers brings me so much joy as they can turn their brains to anything you ask of them…

Breeding since
Once I was in the UK agility world (2018), I discovered there was another breed that took over my heart - working English Cocker Spaniels. I fell head over heels for these little pocket rockets the first time I met them.
