Additional Tests

dna iconGenetic Test

Acral Mutilation Syndrome (AMS) is a genetic disease that causes affected dogs to compulsively lick, overgroom and bite their paws. This can cause recurrent injuries and infections. The condition can be extreme and even result in the dog being euthanised if the signs cannot be controlled.

dna iconGenetic Test

Chondrodystrophy (CDDY) is a condition causing abnormal development of cartilage. Many breeds are prone to this condition, especially short-legged breeds. CDDY makes a dog high risk for developing Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), or ‘slipped discs’ in their spine. There is a DNA test available to identify if a dog is carrying genes making their puppies higher risk for CDDY/IVDD.

stethoscope iconPhysical Test

An eye certificate means the breeder has had their breeding dogs examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist, to confirm they are not affected by any eye conditions which may be passed down genetically to their puppies. If relevant for the breed, it also includes running DNA tests to confirm the dog is not a genetic carrier of hereditary eye diseases, such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It includes breeders who have participated in the Australian Canine Eye Scheme (ACES).

dna iconGenetic Test

Familial Nephropathy (FN) is a genetic kidney disorder that can cause kidney failure and death in young dogs. It is also known as Autosomal Inherited Recessive Nephropathy. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

Fucosidosis is a genetic neurological disease which causes progressive weakness, wobbliness, and neurological degeneration. It is usually identified in dogs aged 1-4 and is eventually fatal. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

Hereditary Nephropathy (HN) is a genetic form of kidney disease found in some breeds, usually resulting in kidney failure in young dogs. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

dna iconGenetic Test

Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) is a rare genetic condition that causes adverse reactions to anaesthetic drugs. It results in the body rapidly overheating and is sometimes fatal. There is now a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

Canine Phosphofructokinase (PFK) Deficiency is a genetic disease resulting in low levels of the PFK enzyme. It can result in extreme muscle fatigue, muscle cramping and severe anaemia. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in dogs is a type of genetic eye disease causing deterioration of the retina and eventually, blindness. There are a variety of sub-types of PRA, which can occur in various breeds. There are various DNA tests available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder

A little about us

I am a dog trainer, specialising in scentwork. I regularly teach classes and instruct at my dog obedience club. I compete in dog sports and judge for ANKC in Scentwork. I am passionate about Working Springer Spaniels and diversifying the breed in Australia. I imported my foundation bitch from NZ in 2024.

Why we got involved in breeding

I wanted to diversify this fantastic breed and strive to use the best imported bloodlines available. I specifically aim for well adjusted, confident, high hunt drive dogs, from the best lineage possible worldwide. They are bred to work , being a busy working breed. Please research this breed beforehand if you…

Our special touch

I do try to fit dogs with suitable owners. Each puppy has different strengths and will suit slightly different lifestyles to thrive. Happy dogs living fulfilled lives for their breed is my goal. Whether that be hunting, dog sports or professional detection roles, or a loving active family.
