Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
We have 8 dog obsessed (4 adults and 4 kids) in our household who are always interacting and playing with the puppies. We also have a beautiful 12-year-old Border Collie, Astro, so there is plenty of socialisation with another dog too :)
Health
Our dogs have been DNA tested for available health issues through Orivet for breed-specific diseases and also coat and colour gene panels. We also work closely with our GP vets and a veterinary reproduction specialist. We feed our dogs high-quality food to ensure our puppies develop a strong and healthy gut. Our…
Home environment
From birth, our puppies have continued exposure to handling and new experiences as part of their development. Our pups are raised in the house alongside our other dogs, little kids and teenagers. They are desensitised to the usual household noises - vacuum cleaner, washing machine, and with 4 kids in the house,…
Included with our puppies
Each pup goes to its new home with a puppy pack. This includes information on feeding and diet, daily activity and exercise, health and ongoing care, and health information for the parents of the puppy. We include in the pack, some of the dogs puppy food, as well a collar, toy and some of the blanket…
Health Tests
Core Tests(1/3)
Maisie Moo Groodles conducts 1 out of 3 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Groodle.
PRA
Genetic Test
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in dogs is a type of genetic eye disease causing deterioration…

Additional Tests
Maisie Moo Groodles conducts 8 additional tests available for the Groodle.
Genetic Test
Canine Elliptocytosis is a rare genetic disease causing the red blood cells to be abnormally elliptical in shape, rather than round. It generally does not cause a clinical problem to affected dogs, but puppies may be mildly anaemic and smaller than others. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB) is a congenital skin disease that causes fragile skin, blisters, ulceration, and skin scarring. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
This is a serious genetic skin disease that causes flaky dry skin and footpad problems. It can occur in many breeds but is fairly common in Golden Retrievers. There is a DNA test to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease and could pass it on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE) is a brain disease that can occur in Standard Poodle puppies. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.

About the Breeder
A little about us
I've had dogs my whole life, and they are a part of who I am. Being a breeder has been one of the most wonderful experiences of my life - hard work but oh so rewarding. Our house contains 8 dog-obsessed people (4 kids and 4 adults), and the upbringing of our puppies couldn't be better with constant interaction with…
Why we got involved in breeding
Breeding dogs is one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever undertaken.
Our special touch
The fact that there are so many dog crazy people in the house where the puppies are been born is really rare and ensures that the puppies are getting the best possible start they can have. Our puppies become part of the family, being socialised with heaps of kids, taken to the shops and getting used to the day-to-day…
