About the Breeder
A little about us
I'm Gail, and together with my husband - we run Asterhund German Shepherds. We have been showing and breeding since the early 1980's however we had a break of 18 years and returned once our children left home. We are show and breed GSDs - which is fair to say we are lovers of the German Shepherd.
Why we got involved in breeding
Our story started in the mid-70s when we were looking for a German Shepherd. We were lucky enough to find a purebred GSD and a breeder who allowed us to have a puppy of their for the purposes of breeding. We started breeding in 1979 as a registered breeder with Dogs SA and the German Shepherd Club of South Australia…
Our special touch
We plan every litter and don't just breed for the sake of it. Our pairing between our sires and bitches are planned very carefully and based on what will complement and extend our GSD lines well. We are selective on the ideal owner for our GSD which involves ensuring that every puppy that goes home will be looked…
