Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our dogs and puppies are raised in a loving, family environment in our home. We use the Puppy Culture socialisation method in order to expose our pups to a variety of different situations and stimuli, so they are well-adjusted and prepared by the time they are ready to go home to you. Puppies will be desensitised to…
Health
Parent (breeding) dogs are DNA tested and are extensively vet-checked prior to every breeding cycle. Parents are clear of any genetic diseases. Puppies are whelped in a room of our home, and we perform all necessary checks from day 1 such as weight monitoring and observing feeding sessions with all puppies. At six…
Home environment
Our home is based in the far North-West suburbs of Sydney (about an hours' drive from the CBD) in the Hawkesbury. Dogs and puppies live and are raised in the family home, with the whole family taking part in raising the puppies. Health Tests
Core Tests(0/1)
BAJPUP Cavalier King Charles Spaniels conducts 0 out of 1 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Additional Tests
BAJPUP Cavalier King Charles Spaniels conducts 4 additional tests available for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Genetic Test
Congenital Macrothrombocytopenia (CM) is a mild disease which normally does not have any impact on an affected dog’s health or lifespan but can cause concern if noticed on routine bloodwork without knowing the cause. It is a blood disease resulting in low numbers of very large platelets. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome is a genetic cause of eye and skin problems in Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies. The disease also caused an unsually tight curly coat texture. There is a DNA test available to identify if breeding Cavaliers are carrying the gene for Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
This is a genetic neurological condition affecting Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. It causes sudden stiffening of the legs, often causing the dog to fall over and be unable to move. There is a DNA test available to indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease. The test is also recommended in Cavoodles.

About the Breeder
A little about us
I have been a veterinarian for more than 20 years and love the breed. Initially started breeding to give healthy Cavalier King Charles pets to family members. Wanted to start breeding cavaliers who are happy and healthy with great temperaments. We have had very beautiful, healthy and sweet litters who have grown…
Why we got involved in breeding
I have always loved this breed but they came with a few issues. I tried testing for healthy parents and breeding from them so can have healthy pups. We have had very healthy and beautiful litters.
Our special touch
We are on five acres in the beautiful Hawkesbury region so our dogs while being inside also spend quality time outdoors. Our dogs are like family members, very gentle and have great temperaments. We would like the puppies to go to homes where they are treated as part of the family too. We enjoy breeding dogs,…
