Hi, I'm Mel P.
We breed all our puppies with a focus on health, temperament and looks. We put our main focus on the first two, as we believe they are most important for producing pets that will be happy, healthy and around for many years. Of course looks are important too but we will never prioritise looks over health or…

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our puppies are brought up at home. They are exposed to all the normal noises of a household, handled daily by adults and children, and interact safely with our other dogs.
Health
We ensure all our breeding dogs are up-to-date with vaccinations, parasite control, grooming and dentistry all year round. We closely monitor our girls throughout their pregnancy ensuring they receive appropriate nutrition to support the growing bubbas inside them. Mum-to-be isn't let out of my sight from about 10…
Home environment
After the initial few days we move them into our laundry. We control the temperature by using an adjustable heat mat in the whelping box plus a heater in the room in the cooler weather. Mum has her own yard adjoining the laundry with a doggy door for access. She can also access the house but our girls usually prefer…
Included with our puppies
We provide a health guarantee (outlined in our contract of sale), six weeks pet insurance, copy of both parent's DNA results, Black Hawk puppy pack including a 3kg bag of puppy food, "drooly dog" soft toy, scoop/measuring cup, poop bags, new puppy guide, bag of treats and puppy milestone cards to help you capture…

About the Breeder
A little about us
I one hundred percent have to have animals in my life in order to be happy! There's only been one time in my life where I couldn't have a pet, it was bloody miserable I tell you! Luckily there was a neighbourhood cat that sometimes visited me, that made it somewhat bearable. I've lived in quite a few different…
Why we got involved in breeding
I was managing a vet clinic and to be honest, I was burnt out. I started researching dog breeding and developed a business plan. I bought my first Cavalier and completely fell in love! I acquired a few more Cavalier girls and a toy Poodle stud. It hasn't always been smooth sailing but I wouldn't give it up for the…
Our special touch
Having my cert IV in veterinary nursing has certainly been beneficial. I'm confident in what I do and know how to care for my dogs correctly. Sometimes you have to make a judgement call in regards to getting veterinary intervention though, I'm not shy about getting my dogs help! I've saved numerous puppies by getting…
