Genetic Test
Acral Mutilation Syndrome (AMS) is a genetic disease that causes affected dogs to compulsively lick, overgroom and bite their paws. This can cause recurrent injuries and infections. The condition can be extreme and even result in the dog being euthanised if the signs cannot be controlled.
Genetic Test
This is a rare genetic disease affecting Cocker Spaniels. It can cause wobbliness and incoordination in the hindlimbs, with eventual progression to paralysis and difficulty breathing. It usually only affects older dogs and progression is slow over several years. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Bernard-Soulier Syndrome (BSS) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by abnormally large platelets in low numbers, meaning an affected animal cannot form clots properly after tissue damage. It can lead to life-threatening bleeding issues following surgery or injury. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) is a genetic condition mainly affecting Retrievers and Spaniels. It results in the dog collapsing after periods of intense exercise, even if they are normally able to cope with lower levels of exercise. There is a DNA test available which can indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Physical Test
These breeders have had x-rays taken on their breeding dogs to assess the quality of their elbow joints. Dogs with very low ‘elbow scores’ are less likely to develop elbow problems in the future and less likely to pass hereditary elbow problems on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Canine Phosphofructokinase (PFK) Deficiency is a genetic disease resulting in low levels of the PFK enzyme. It can result in extreme muscle fatigue, muscle cramping and severe anaemia. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder
A little about us
Breeding is a carefully thought through process for us. From the timing of potential litters, through to the selection of stud dog, to birth and finally the puppies leaving us. All factors have been considered. Our girls receive vet specialist attention to ensure accuracy with the mating, we scan and then finally…
Why we got involved in breeding
We became involved in breeding to improve our breed and select our next show puppy
Our special touch
Our doggos are beloved family members and as such we want them to live long and fulfilling lives. Our dogs are involved in multi-disciplinary activities, often combining shows, flyball, scenting and obedience. Establishing great habits and behaviours begin with us, well before the puppies leave for their forever homes
