Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
We socialise all our puppies with plenty of attentive nursing and interaction. They get used to playing with children and when they are old enough, they will go out in the local community with us. During the day they get used to the noise of the TV and other household noises and learn through lots of play with toys…
Health
Both parents are DNA tested and we temperament test our puppies to match them to prospective buyers. We vet check all our dogs and puppies regularly and they are vaccinated and wormed on schedule. We feed premium Royal Canin for its complete nutritional value.
Home environment
We live on 2 acres with lots of space for our dogs to play and exercise. We have a whelping box set up in our lounge under climate control, and also have day kennels with concrete flooring outside, for them to use around 6 weeks of age. Puppies sleep inside the house at night, under our watchful eye as they develop.
Included with our puppies
Our puppies leave with their scented blanket and toys, a bag of Royal Canin Puppy food, a collar and lead, lots of information and breeder contract including future desexing arrangement and rehoming policy.

Additional Tests
Companion Pups Groodles conducts 6 additional tests available for the Groodle.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
This is a serious genetic skin disease that causes flaky dry skin and footpad problems. It can occur in many breeds but is fairly common in Golden Retrievers. There is a DNA test to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease and could pass it on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE) is a brain disease that can occur in Standard Poodle puppies. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.

About the Breeder
A little about us
I’m Kerry, a business owner in the Human Resources and Safety field and former Shower in the dog world.
Why we got involved in breeding
Having previously bred German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers and mountain dogs, I came across the Groodle breed and instantly fell in love with their temperament and personality.
Our special touch
Gidget is our princess matriarch and has the most affectionate, adorable personality. She is incredibly smart, being obedience trained and gives just as much as she expects to receive in providing the perfect complementary companionship.
