Hi, I'm Debbie C.

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our puppies often have free run of our home and interact well with our older dogs. They are frequently handled and meet lots of different people who come to visit our home. We encourage our puppy families to come over from 5 weeks where we gauge their individual personalities and tend to match the right puppy with…
Health
We hip and elbow score all our breeding dogs and DNA test to ensure they are clear of known hereditary diseases. We feed our dogs on a premium dry diet and A La Carte.
Home environment
We have a dedicated whelping box set up close by to our lounge and larger pen near our kitchen and toward the bustle of the house under temperature control. Outside, we have an acre yard which is contained and where our dogs can roam freely. They also have access to climbing gyms, tunnels and insulated sheds. Our…
Included with our puppies
We include a scented blanket, some toys and food and a folder of information containing their Pedigree, Microchip transfer, health history, basic obedience, diet suggestions, exercise charts, relevant health articles on the breed and contract outlining our desexing clause and rehoming policy. We provide ongoing…
Health Tests
Core Tests(1/1)
Copperkee Flat Coated Retriever conducts 1 out of 1 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Flat Coated Retriever.
Hip Dysplasia
Physical Test
These breeders have had x-rays taken on their breeding dogs to assess their ‘hip score’. Dogs with…

Additional Tests
Copperkee Flat Coated Retriever conducts 2 additional tests available for the Flat Coated Retriever.
Physical Test
These breeders have had x-rays taken on their breeding dogs to assess the quality of their elbow joints. Dogs with very low ‘elbow scores’ are less likely to develop elbow problems in the future and less likely to pass hereditary elbow problems on to their puppies.
Physical Test
An eye certificate means the breeder has had their breeding dogs examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist, to confirm they are not affected by any eye conditions which may be passed down genetically to their puppies. If relevant for the breed, it also includes running DNA tests to confirm the dog is not a genetic carrier of hereditary eye diseases, such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It includes breeders who have participated in the Australian Canine Eye Scheme (ACES).

About the Breeder
A little about us
I’m Debbie and work with my eldest daughter Jamie-Lee. As well as Showing and breeding dogs I run my own online pet supplies business called Crazy Dog Lady!
Why we got involved in breeding
I started out with Obedience and was introduced to breeding through another experienced breeder. I enjoyed the experience so much and, having young children at the time, I thought it was a pleasurable novelty to have for my children. I continued to learn about all aspects of breeding.
Our special touch
Our Labrador dogs are very competitive and we have bred and titled a number of Australian Champions which have originated from high quality imported bloodlines. Over many years we have admired the Flat Coated Retriever and our girl has been successfully Shown as Australian Champion. Cocker Spaniels are my youngest…
