Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our pups are socialized with our three adult dogs who love to help watch over new litters and teach them how to play when mum needs a break. We have a family environment so puppies grow up being handled daily by ourselves and our kids, receiving lots of cuddles.
Health
Pups are with mum until she chooses to wean them or 8 weeks old which ever comes first, wormed 2, 4, 6 and at 8 weeks of age with Drontal and Troy puppy syrup. Pups are vet checked at 6 weeks when they are microchipped and vaccinated. All puppies are born from DNA clear parents reducing the chances of any major…
Home environment
Our dogs whelp inside our home where pups spend the first 4 weeks of their life where we can provide 24 hour supervision. At 4 weeks we begin to introduce Lyka puppy food (all natural, vet formulated, high quality food) giving them the best start to life. We start toilet training as early as 4 weeks with grassy…
Included with our puppies
We love to spoil our new puppy parents with a fluffy bed, some toys, quality dry food, a Lyka starter pack including Lyka discount for new puppy owners, petbarn discounts, a dog bowl, snuffle mat and feeding enrichment puzzle for when you need to leave puppy at home alone to help reduce separation anxiety. We also…
Health Tests
Core Tests(1/3)
Crossing Borders Groodles conducts 1 out of 3 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Groodle.

Additional Tests
Crossing Borders Groodles conducts 11 additional tests available for the Groodle.
Genetic Test
Canine Elliptocytosis is a rare genetic disease causing the red blood cells to be abnormally elliptical in shape, rather than round. It generally does not cause a clinical problem to affected dogs, but puppies may be mildly anaemic and smaller than others. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Congenital eye malformations in Golden Retrievers result from a mutation of the SIX6 gene. These malformations can present as a range of different eye conditions, ranging from poor vision to blindness in one or both eyes. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying the affected gene.
Genetic Test
Dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB) is a congenital skin disease that causes fragile skin, blisters, ulceration, and skin scarring. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
GM2 gangliosidosis is a lysosomal storage disorder that causes neurological problems. There are a few different types of this disease affecting different breeds. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
This is a serious genetic skin disease that causes flaky dry skin and footpad problems. It can occur in many breeds but is fairly common in Golden Retrievers. There is a DNA test to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease and could pass it on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE) is a brain disease that can occur in Standard Poodle puppies. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteochondrodysplasias are a group of rare genetic diseases that cause problems with connective tissue, cartilage, or bone development. They commonly cause dwarfism and movement disorders. There is a DNA test available in some breeds to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
Genetic Test
Von Willebrand’s Disease (VWD/vWD) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by a lack of a specific clotting factor. There are three forms of the disease, types 1, 2 & 3. A DNA test is available for each type of VWD to identify whether a breeding dog is a carrier or might be affected. The severity of VWD varies widely between breeds and individuals, ranging from life threatening, through to having no impact on clotting ability.

About the Breeder
A little about us
We started our breeding adventure with Willow our beautiful blue merle border collie and Teddy our cream stud mini poodle and were so delighted with the puppies we decided to expand by adding another 2 girls to our family. Indie (another merle) and Echointime Lavender Kisses aka Lyla joined our family in 2021. We…
Why we got involved in breeding
We were wanting to breed a incredible family dog by crossing the two smartest dog breeds, border collie and poodle to create a loving family pet, low shedding, loyal, moderate activity requirements, highly trainable and very family friendly. I honestly believe a Bordoodle is the perfect dog - I'm not biased either…
Our special touch
We chose our girls because of their temperaments and gorgeous colours... Willow being Blue Merle, Indie chocolate merle and Lyla our beautiful lilac girl. Our Border Collies are not from working lines so they are NOT crazy hyperactive obsessive dogs, they are moderate on the activity scale unlike other border…
