Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our puppies are raised in our family home. They are frequently socialised with other dogs, a cat and younger and older children. They are exposed to all our household noises such as noisy kids, television, music, door bell, other animal sounds (e.g. birds), vacuum cleaner, and washing machine, etc. We…
Health
The health of our puppies is of the utmost importance! We DNA test all our breeding dogs, as well as our puppies and work closely with our local vet to ensure that our breeding dogs and puppies are the healthiest and happiest they can be. They all follow a strict vaccination, flea, tick and worming regime.
Home environment
All of our puppies are raised in our family home consisting of two adults and three children (two teenage girls, one younger boy) and are considered part of the family until they leave for their new family home. All puppies are regularly handled and played with.
Included with our puppies
Each puppy will be sent to their new homes microchipped, vaccinated and wormed, along with a puppy pack including paperwork and information on how to raise and care for your new puppy, treats, toys, a blanket, and food for them to either continue feeding them or help with transition them to whatever you choose to…

Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
Genetic Test
Sarcoglycan Deficient Muscular Dystrophy (SDMD) is a genetic disease causing a stiff gait, exercise intolerance and difficulty swallowing in young Miniature Dachshunds. There is now a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

About the Breeder
A little about us
We are a small family breeder based in Sydney who specialises in long haired miniature dachshunds.
Why we got involved in breeding
Miniature dachshunds are special as they are a small dog breed, amazingly affectionate and all have their own unique personalities. We also fell in love with the variety of coat colours and patterns found in this breed.
Our special touch
Our dogs are part of our family and are raised alongside our children. All of our breeding dogs are DNA tested to ensure that our puppies are clear of any inheritable diseases. We strive to start our puppies off on the right path with crate and toilet training and being desensitised to loud noises. We also endeavour…
