Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our puppies are raised indoors as part of our family and have plenty of interaction with us and our children. They will also have interactions with our adult dogs to learn all the important behaviours and be socialised with them before they leave to their forever homes. With being raised indoors, our puppies benefit…
Health
Our puppies are raised on a healthy well balanced diet of high quality kibble and raw food. They are wormed fortnightly, Micro-chipped, vaccinated and flea/tick treated prior to leaving. A vet health check will also be done on puppies at their 6 week appointment ensuring they leave with an approved health certificate…
Home environment
Our puppies are raised in our family home/live inside in a temperature controlled room from birth-8 weeks when they leave our care. During their first weeks of life we ensure they have stimulating indoor and outdoor activities, as well as plenty of sensory and enrichment to keep them busy and fulfilled.
Included with our puppies
Our puppy packs will always look a little different as they are carefully curated to each individual litter (one of our favourite parts!). Our packs will always include our breeder booklet including puppy birth certificate, vet health check certificate relevant health records, relevant diet information, next dates of…

Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
Genetic Test
Sarcoglycan Deficient Muscular Dystrophy (SDMD) is a genetic disease causing a stiff gait, exercise intolerance and difficulty swallowing in young Miniature Dachshunds. There is now a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

About the Breeder
A little about us
We are a small family registered breeder located in South East Queensland. Our dogs are raised by my husband and I and are well socialised with our 2 children.
Why we got involved in breeding
We have always loved the breed but fell in love once we welcomed our first dachshund puppy into our family. She enriched our family life so much and we couldn't imagine our life without dachshunds ever again. We wanted to be able to raise happy, confident and healthy puppies with well rounded temperaments for others…
Our special touch
Our family environment helps puppies have plenty of interaction and socialising with us, our children and other dogs, making for a much smoother transition to their new families regardless of their new environment. Being at home full time also means I can devote all my time and energy to raising our dogs and puppies.
