Hello and welcome to Doxie Manor. Our aim is to produce healthy, well-rounded dachshunds that have good conformation and temperaments. We have short and long haired breeding dogs and all of them have full DNA profiles completed which can be viewed when applying for a puppy.

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
All our puppies grow up in a home environment. They will be exposed to both young and older children, cats, other breeds of dogs, cars and motorbikes. Puppies will be fed a raw diet from the moment they start eating solids. Basic training will also be completed on all puppies (Sit, Wait, Learning to lead).
Health
All of our puppies will have a thorough vet check, as well as worming every 2 weeks and vaccinations and microchips. Puppies will be started on heartworm preventative and will have had 2 vaccinations before leaving for their new homes.
Home environment
We live on 7 acres away from suburbia. We constantly have birds, kangaroos and even lizards visit our property. All our dogs and puppies have access to a secure dog yard as well as the whole house. We are a family of 5, so they will have had desensitisation to children and loud everyday noises.
Included with our puppies
All puppies will come home with a puppy pack to get them through the first few weeks at their new homes. We will provide food, bowls, blanket that smells like Mum, collar, lead, harness, name tag and other little items to make their transition easier. All puppies will go home with 6 weeks' complimentary pet insurance.

- Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
- Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
- Genetic Test
Sarcoglycan Deficient Muscular Dystrophy (SDMD) is a genetic disease causing a stiff gait, exercise intolerance and difficulty swallowing in young Miniature Dachshunds. There is now a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

A little about us
I have always been a huge animal lover. I grew up in a small country town constantly surrounded by all types of animals. I fell in love with Dachshunds when I first met my girl Bonnie and now I am hoping to make others fall in love.
Why we got involved in breeding
I fell in love with my first Dachshund Bonnie, and noticed when looking for a companion for her, how hard it was to find breeders who have tested their breeding dogs or who weren’t secretive about their practices. Also finding the right conformation and temperament to fit into our home was hard as well. I aim to…
Our special touch
Our special touch is being available to our future puppies' new parents for the lifetime of that puppy. I would love nothing more than to see all our puppies grow and be loved and to have that support there, when new owners need it.
