Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
We pride ourselves in raising happy, confident puppies that are very much a part of our family. Our puppies are raised in our home amongst all the craziness of being a busy household with younger children and we use Puppy Culture protocols to ensure we have well balanced babies. We take our puppies out to our local…
Health
Goldies - We fully DNA test as well as score hips and elbow score. We obtain eye certificates from an ophthalmologist and heart certificates from our local and well-renowned cardiac specialist. We feed a diet of Royal Canin kibble, Prime100 along with raw butcher supplied meat (lamb bones, chicken carcasses etc).
Home environment
We live on small acreage, around 2 hours drive from Melbourne on a hobby farm with our dogs, cats, chickens and cows. We have some outdoor kennels space and designated indoor space. We have a whelping pen set up inside our open plan lounge and a large doggy room with a sliding door, which our dogs can use to go in…
Included with our puppies
With our puppies comes a comprehensive resource folder and Royal Canin puppy pack containing food, a measuring cup, toys, collar and lead. We supply Pedigree Papers and standard Dogs Victoria Breeder Contract.

Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Physical Test
A heart certificate indicates that a breeding dog has been screened for heart disease such as DCM or MMVD. Auscultation alone is only accepted as a screening method if performed by a veterinary cardiologist or a GP vet certifying an OFA Basic Cardiac Screen. Echocardiography is an accepted screening method via GP or cardiologist.
Genetic Test
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in dogs is a type of genetic eye disease causing deterioration of the retina and eventually, blindness. There are a variety of sub-types of PRA, which can occur in various breeds. There are various DNA tests available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder
A little about us
I’m Melissa, a mother of 3 young children and passionate about all things dogs! My daughter now competes in junior handling and helps to handle ranger at shows. I work for the DEPI teaching dog safety to kindergartens and schools, as well as dog boarding kennels.
Why we got involved in breeding
Having grown up with dogs all my life, they have always been and played an important role in my life. Before retiring, my Nana was a well known Corgi breeder, so we now have 3 generations strong of dog enthusiasts! My first Cavalier Dutchess brings me ample amounts of joy and will always be my first love. …
Our special touch
We are ethical breeders with a home style kennel, where our dogs are family members first and foremost.
