Canine Elliptocytosis is a rare genetic disease causing the red blood cells to be abnormally elliptical in shape, rather than round. It generally does not cause a clinical problem to affected dogs, but puppies may be mildly anaemic and smaller than others. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

Dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB) is a congenital skin disease that causes fragile skin, blisters, ulceration, and skin scarring. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

dna iconGenetic Test

This is a serious genetic skin disease that causes flaky dry skin and footpad problems. It can occur in many breeds but is fairly common in Golden Retrievers. There is a DNA test to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease and could pass it on to their puppies.

dna iconGenetic Test

Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.

Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.

About the Breeder

A little about us

I first fell in love with this beautiful breed 2 decades ago & that’s when my ‘Groodle Addiction’ began. Since then I’ve slowly been filling up our beautiful 60 acre rural property with groodles and now my life pretty much revolves around my dogs and spreading the love with other families all over Australia

Why we got involved in breeding

Groodles were a relatively unknown breed when I was first lucky enough to get my first boy, and the wait for him was years long - as it was for the next few additions to our fur family! I had bred other breeds in the past but after owning a Groodle there was no going back for me! With friends & family wanting an…

Our special touch

Each & every dog lives here with us on our rural property with all the space in the world to run, swim, play & just be happy healthy dogs. Every puppy is born in my living room & I’m with them 24/7, along with their mum and extended fur family until the day they leave with their lucky new family to start the next…
