Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Everyday, my dogs go for long runs. They will go to the park in the morning to have sufficient exercise and fun, then come along with me on school runs. Our puppies are raised in the house and are exposed to lots of people. Visitor's and other dogs guide them through their early development successfully. I begin…
Health
We fully DNA test our breeding dogs and they are clear of all known hereditary diseases. We vet-check regularly and prior to breeding. Upon first vaccination, our puppies are vet checked for overall health in puppy. Naturally, puppies ae wormed every 2 weeks from 2 weeks of age.
Home environment
Outside our home, we have a large veranda deck and a grassy yard which our dogs can access as they please, where they can be seen under watchful monitor and sliding door access to the rear of the house. We have a dedicated whelping space set up inside the home for our new-born's and mum.
Included with our puppies
We supply a blanket with the familiar scent of mum and siblings, a toy, sample food (Royal Canin), a folder containing pics as a newborn, transfer papers, care/training/diet info, health records and future schedule and our breeder contract.
Health Tests
Core Tests(1/3)
Hartsonfyr Miniature Poodles conducts 1 out of 3 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Miniature Poodle.
PRA

Additional Tests
Hartsonfyr Miniature Poodles conducts 2 additional tests available for the Miniature Poodle.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.

About the Breeder
A little about us
I’m Michelle, passionate about miniature poodles and improving the health of the breed, and an advocate of obedience.
Why we got involved in breeding
I grew upon a farm with dogs and horses and met a couple of friends with poodles who encountered some issues with PRA. I fell in love with the Poodle breed and purchased one when I finished up working, making it my aim to breed the healthiest dogs to make future families as happy as my dogs make me.
