Newborn litter
Hi, I'm Pauleen B.
Our first lagotto arrived on our farm in 2007, following a long search for our ideal dog. Nearly two decades and many litters later, we still love living with our curly critters, and sharing them with other Australian families.

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our puppies are expertly raised following protocols we've developed over the past three decades, both on the farm and through Pauleen's academic work as one of Australia's leading experts in the study of human-dog relationships. They get to meet people of all types and do lots of exploring, both indoors and out. We…
Health
All of our breeding dogs have full genetic profiles and are clear of all disorders known to affect the breed. They also have hips and elbows professionally evaluated. Most importantly, our dogs are fit and healthy and happy. They eat only the best foods, spend their days in large yards with plenty of company and…
Home environment
Our puppies live in the house for the first few weeks and then move into a purpose-built kennel facility where they get to do puppy things like play in the mud, chew up toys, wrestle other dogs and generally have a good time as they build their teeny puppy brains. We make sure they get plenty of sleep and are…
Included with our puppies
Puppies are microchipped, vet checked and have their first vaccination two weeks prior to leaving home. They come with a comprehensive information pack which includes copies of mum and dad's registration certificates, health tests and genetic profile. They are registered as a purebred lagotto romagnolos with Dogs…

About the Breeder
A little about us
We breed dogs as a hobby but take it very seriously. We chose our property because it suited our dogs and we then spent a small fortune building the fanciest puppy palace we could design. Ron retired a few years back and runs the farm. Until the end of 2025 Pauleen was a professor at La Trobe University and an…
Why we got involved in breeding
We've both always had dogs as pets but we initially got involved in competing with and breeding dogs because we had to live in suburbia for a while and couldn't fit horses in the backyard. By the time we were able to move back out of town, we were hooked, and we've been breeding dogs as a hobby ever since.
Our special touch
What makes us special is that everything we do is based on a combination of personal experience and science. We chose our breeds based on studies conducted by Pauleen's PhD students, who surveyed Australian dog owners about the characteristics of their ideal dog. Other students have worked on understanding dog…
