Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Just like our dogs, our puppies are raised in our own home so they accustomise themselves to an everyday household. From a young age, the puppies are exposed to many different objects, handled by us and many others as well as groomed.
Health
All puppies are vet checked at 6-7 weeks old, microchipped and vaccinated. At 7-8 weeks old, all puppies will also have their eyes checked by an eye specialist to ensure a clean bill of health.
Home environment
The puppies are brought up in our home just like our own dogs. When they are older, they also have adventures outside during the day.
Included with our puppies
Puppies are ready to leave for their homes at 8 weeks. All puppies will have had their first vaccination, microchipped, a vet ceritificate on their health and a copy of their eye test results. Puppies will also go home with 6 weeks free pet insurance and a puppy pack (which includes some food, toy, lead & information…
Health Tests
Core Tests(2/2)

Additional Tests
Hueze Finnish Lapphunds conducts 2 additional tests available for the Finnish Lapphund.
Physical Test
These breeders have had x-rays taken on their breeding dogs to assess the quality of their elbow joints. Dogs with very low ‘elbow scores’ are less likely to develop elbow problems in the future and less likely to pass hereditary elbow problems on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in dogs is a type of genetic eye disease causing deterioration of the retina and eventually, blindness. There are a variety of sub-types of PRA, which can occur in various breeds. There are various DNA tests available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder
A little about us
Hi, I'm Huey Miin and I run Hueze Finnish Lapphunds. As we are a boutique kennel, we will only have one or two litters of puppies each year. Just like our dogs, our puppies are raised in our home. We enjoy Conformation Showing and Agility - however our dogs are first and foremost a big part of the family.
Why we got involved in breeding
Since being involved in the breed in 2013, my love & passion for this breed has only grown. Actively promoting the breed in the show rings wasn’t enough and I made the decision to play a part in the breed here in Australia. In 2020, I imported our foundation bitch from Finland and subsequently imported frozen…
Our special touch
Our dogs and puppies are part of the family and raised in the family home. We strive to breed for the best outcomes of the breed, which include good temperaments and health.
