Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
our puppies are raised in a family environment and are exposed to a variety of stimuli as they grow ensuring the very best foundation possible
Health
Health starts with our breeding dogs, and we ensure they are kept fit and in excellent condition in everyday life. We health test our breeding dogs for *hip and elbow dysplasia, as *hearts *Ataxia. All our dogs have Excellent Results, and can be viewed on Request. All pups will also come vaccinated,…
Home environment
All our dogs are family dogs, and sleep inside (they even have their own bedroom!). They are part of our family, which is really important. All puppy whelping takes place inside the house, and the pups are raised with children and other animals.
Included with our puppies
All our puppies come with their pedigree papers. Wormed Vaccinated Microchiped New owners will also receive puppy pack Life time breeder support

Additional Tests
Imperiums American Staffordshire Terriers conducts 3 additional tests available for the American Staffordshire Terrier.
Genetic Test
Cerebellar Ataxia is a genetic disease that has been identified in several breeds. It is a degenerative, neurological disease which causes the cerebellum in the brain to lose function over time. It many breeds this is first noted in neonatal puppies with incoordination and tremoring. It can progress to difficulty walking and eating, becoming life threatening. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Physical Test
These breeders have had x-rays taken on their breeding dogs to assess the quality of their elbow joints. Dogs with very low ‘elbow scores’ are less likely to develop elbow problems in the future and less likely to pass hereditary elbow problems on to their puppies.
Physical Test
A heart certificate indicates that a breeding dog has been screened for heart disease such as DCM or MMVD. Auscultation alone is only accepted as a screening method if performed by a veterinary cardiologist or a GP vet certifying an OFA Basic Cardiac Screen. Echocardiography is an accepted screening method via GP or cardiologist.

About the Breeder
A little about us
Hi, I'm Cassie from Imperiums Amstaffs! We love all things Amstaff - they are the most human breed that you can find - loyal and lovable. They can sit on the lounge all day with you and do nothing, or run all day till your heart's content. They really think they're human, and that's what we love about them!
Why we got involved in breeding
We had Pitbulls quite a while before Amstaffs, so have been in the dog world for a while. We got our first Amstaff 10 years ago, and then went into the world of obedience trials, and then eventually the world of showing. We have been in the show world for 9 years now, We then started showing our dog Ceasar, and he…
Our special touch
We love changing people's minds about the Amstaff breed. People don't realise how lovable they are - they think they are just big and scary. Ceasar goes to Dog Lovers events, and he changes people's perceptions of the breed. We breed for great temperaments - a mix of the right parents, and training.
