Hi, I'm Samara H.

My goal first and foremost is to create healthy animals with sound temperaments, to ensure homes are matched with a family member who will live a long and happy life. I complete puppy culture protocols and early neurological stimulation to give pups the best start in life. My dogs are family and live in the home, as…

Our Breeding Practices

Behaviour and socialisation

Puppies are exposed to a wide variety of people and animals, sights, smells and sounds. We complete early neurological stimulation and early scent introductions to give their bodies the best resilience to stressors from the very beginning. As they grow, they participate in car trips and walks around the property to…

Health

My dogs are heart, eye, hip and elbow tested as well as DNA testing. Sires I use have hip and elbows and DNA as a minimum requirement. Pups are checked for dermoid sinus. They are vaccinated and microchipped from six weeks of age and receive health checks from our veterinarian. I offer guarantees on heritable…

Home environment

My puppies are raised as part of the family, and enjoy getting used to the sights and sounds of daily life from birth to when they go home.

Additional Tests

Jaspridge Rhodesian Ridgebacks conducts 2 additional tests available for the Rhodesian Ridgeback.

stethoscope iconPhysical Test

These breeders have had x-rays taken on their breeding dogs to assess the quality of their elbow joints. Dogs with very low ‘elbow scores’ are less likely to develop elbow problems in the future and less likely to pass hereditary elbow problems on to their puppies.

An eye certificate means the breeder has had their breeding dogs examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist, to confirm they are not affected by any eye conditions which may be passed down genetically to their puppies. If relevant for the breed, it also includes running DNA tests to confirm the dog is not a genetic carrier of hereditary eye diseases, such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It includes breeders who have participated in the Australian Canine Eye Scheme (ACES).

About the Breeder

A little about us

I am a passionate dog lover who believes in matching the right pup to the right family. I have been showing and competing in sports with my dogs for over a decade, and was involved in working dogs way before this, through my family farm.

Why we got involved in breeding

I came from rescue initially, and was passionate about people having the opportunity to be able to find the right puppy for them, not just unpredictable and unhealthy pups from backyard breeders. I wanted to be able to make families who deserve a special puppy happy, and be able to offer them lifelong support and…

Our special touch

I am a qualified vet nurse, animal studies teacher and a mum who is part of a long line of animal lovers, instilling the same in my children and therefore giving my puppies a beautiful start to life.
