Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
The puppies mother can go in and out of the puppy yard when she wants so she can teach them what no more means. They have the radio on and I also play a CD with different sounds like thunder etc. When visitors come they get to play with the puppies, not that they object to that.
Health
All adult dogs have been DNA tested and x-rayed and are fed on quality well balanced food. Prior to puppies going home to owners, they will be vet checked, microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed on a fortnightly basis from two weeks old.
Home environment
Puppies grow up in a country environment. My dogs enjoy their life running around, swimming and exploring on my 25 acre property.
Included with our puppies
Puppies go home with their pedigree certificate from Dogs Australia (ANKC), copies of their parent's health results and 6 weeks pet insurance, they are microchipped, vet checked , vaccinated, dewormed fortnightly. They get a puppy pack and information pack and support from me with any questions or help they may need.

Genetic Test
Congenital eye malformations in Golden Retrievers result from a mutation of the SIX6 gene. These malformations can present as a range of different eye conditions, ranging from poor vision to blindness in one or both eyes. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying the affected gene.
Genetic Test
Dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB) is a congenital skin disease that causes fragile skin, blisters, ulceration, and skin scarring. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
This is a serious genetic skin disease that causes flaky dry skin and footpad problems. It can occur in many breeds but is fairly common in Golden Retrievers. There is a DNA test to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease and could pass it on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
Genetic Test
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in dogs is a type of genetic eye disease causing deterioration of the retina and eventually, blindness. There are a variety of sub-types of PRA, which can occur in various breeds. There are various DNA tests available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Skeletal Dysplasia is an inherited form of dwarfism which causes the leg bones to grow much shorter than is proportional for the body. Affected legs will be short and slightly bowed outwards. Often the forelimbs are more affected than the hindlimbs, which can make the condition more difficult to spot in subtle cases. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder
A little about us
We are a registered member of the Royal NSW Canine Council. Our dogs are part of the family, including the Arabian horse family where they come help me feed up or other goings on around the farm.
Why we got involved in breeding
I've bred and shown horses and dogs all my life and have always put them first with the goal to breed healthy and quality Golden Retrievers.
Our special touch
Puppies are born in my lounge room where I can watch them closely and they get used to the goings on around the house. Once they are too big and need more room they go into their own puppy house where they learn to go outside to toilet and play and also watch the horses and kangaroos from a safe place. Our Golden…
