Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
All our dogs live inside with us! They have free range both inside and outside. Our puppies are born in a whelping box near our main living area and are then moved around 2- 3 weeks of age to a larger pen to ensure they are making use of the gross motor skills as much as possible.
Health
Parents are DNA tested prior to breeding. Mum gets fed extra special meals prior to, during and after her pregnancy. Mum has a vet check to ensure she is fit and healthy for pregnancy and has a ultra sound and x-ray throughout the pregnancy.
Home environment
They are handled and socialised by all members of my family - even bub gets to pat under careful guidance :) Our house is full of people and dogs and they are exposed to it all from the very beginning ensuring they are well socialised and adjusted to children.
Included with our puppies
Puppy Pack comes with a variety of toys, health records, food samples and a part of the whelping blanket with mum and siblings scents. Toys are taken from their pen and added to the pack as well to ensure extra scents of their family. They also have a AFP heartbeat lamb (When in stock) to help transition them from…
Health Tests
Core Tests(0/1)
Lucky Cavalier King Charles Spaniel conducts 0 out of 1 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Additional Tests
Lucky Cavalier King Charles Spaniel conducts 4 additional tests available for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Genetic Test
Congenital Macrothrombocytopenia (CM) is a mild disease which normally does not have any impact on an affected dog’s health or lifespan but can cause concern if noticed on routine bloodwork without knowing the cause. It is a blood disease resulting in low numbers of very large platelets. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome is a genetic cause of eye and skin problems in Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies. The disease also caused an unsually tight curly coat texture. There is a DNA test available to identify if breeding Cavaliers are carrying the gene for Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
This is a genetic neurological condition affecting Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. It causes sudden stiffening of the legs, often causing the dog to fall over and be unable to move. There is a DNA test available to indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease. The test is also recommended in Cavoodles.

A little about us
I’m Rachael, a mum and lover of the maltese and moodles breed.
Why we got involved in breeding
My daughter has special needs and after buying our first Moodle, Daffodil, we found it brought so much joy to her life that we wanted to provide the same to other families. Now that she is a little older, she’s become really engaged and proved to be a fantastic hands-on helper. It’s been such a pleasure to witness…
