Hi, I'm Paul G.
We are a small breeder/exhibitor kennel where our Chows are household members, pampered pets first, show dogs second. We have owned and bred Chows for over 30 years, just love this breed. We also show our Chows to confirm that they conform to the breed standard. We health test our Chows to try and ensure healthy…

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
All our pups are house reared, house trained and socialised with other dogs and people/children.
Health
We ensure our pups are bred from healthy parents! We use a quality dog food, with plenty of water available. Our dogs are able to exercise by roaming free in our very large backyard, so have lots of room to run and play.
Home environment
We have a 1 acre property with a large back yard. Plenty of room for our dogs to roam, run, play and rest. As our dogs are part of our family they sleep inside the house.
Included with our puppies
Each pup has it's own "Puppy Pack" with information about feeding, immunisation and caring for your pup. Also included is some of their puppy food, a lead, toys, bedding.

Additional Tests
Marsanchow conducts 4 additional tests available for the Chow Chow.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Physical Test
An eye certificate means the breeder has had their breeding dogs examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist, to confirm they are not affected by any eye conditions which may be passed down genetically to their puppies. If relevant for the breed, it also includes running DNA tests to confirm the dog is not a genetic carrier of hereditary eye diseases, such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It includes breeders who have participated in the Australian Canine Eye Scheme (ACES).
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
Physical Test
Dogs affected by patellar luxation have loose kneecaps that may pop in and out of the knee joint, which can be painful and even require surgery. Having a vet examine breeding dogs for patellar luxation can confirm the dog is not affected, and that their puppies are less likely to develop the condition. Patellar luxation is more common in smaller breeds.

About the Breeder
A little about us
Just love the temperament and characteristics of the Chow, clean, quiet, loyal, great with kids and a vigilant guard dog.
Why we got involved in breeding
Love the breed, happy to share the opportunity of owning a Chow. Also playing with the pups and although sad when they leave us, we love the smiles from the new family.
Our special touch
I am told I am too soft and spoil our dogs, I don't believe this.
