Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
We own both parents and they have been carefully bred to produce pups with good temperament and personality. We always have an abundance of family and friends who love to socialise/play with our pups. We have an enrichment program where pups are introduced to different floor surfaces, toys, games, water/grass/sand…
Health
We have full breed genetic profiles from Orivet. All our breeding dogs and puppies are up to date with vaccinations, worming, vet checks and grooming. They are all on a whole food diet consisting of version, chicken, beef/lamb bones and fresh eggs/vegetables. This is supplemented with a quality kibble.
Home environment
Our dogs/puppies live on our family rural property. There is a safe designated grassed areas to play containing sand/water play and other enrichments. We have purpose built kennels which exceed Dept. of Primary Industries (DPI) and RSPCA standards for breeding dogs. We have custom made whelping facilities for our…
Included with our puppies
As we are part of the Responsible Pet Breeders Association all our pups come with a Health guarantee. We provide puppy packs that include all health/vaccination paperwork, information pack, a blanket with the scent of mum/litter mates, pee pads and poop bags to get you started along with a few toys to entertain your…

Genetic Test
Canine Elliptocytosis is a rare genetic disease causing the red blood cells to be abnormally elliptical in shape, rather than round. It generally does not cause a clinical problem to affected dogs, but puppies may be mildly anaemic and smaller than others. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Congenital eye malformations in Golden Retrievers result from a mutation of the SIX6 gene. These malformations can present as a range of different eye conditions, ranging from poor vision to blindness in one or both eyes. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying the affected gene.
Genetic Test
Dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB) is a congenital skin disease that causes fragile skin, blisters, ulceration, and skin scarring. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
GM2 gangliosidosis is a lysosomal storage disorder that causes neurological problems. There are a few different types of this disease affecting different breeds. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
This is a serious genetic skin disease that causes flaky dry skin and footpad problems. It can occur in many breeds but is fairly common in Golden Retrievers. There is a DNA test to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease and could pass it on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test

Genetic Test
Osteochondrodysplasias are a group of rare genetic diseases that cause problems with connective tissue, cartilage, or bone development. They commonly cause dwarfism and movement disorders. There is a DNA test available in some breeds to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
Genetic Test
Von Willebrand’s Disease (VWD/vWD) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by a lack of a specific clotting factor. There are three forms of the disease, types 1, 2 & 3. A DNA test is available for each type of VWD to identify whether a breeding dog is a carrier or might be affected. The severity of VWD varies widely between breeds and individuals, ranging from life threatening, through to having no impact on clotting ability.

Why we got involved in breeding
My wife and I moved to our property where we have the facilities to breed well. Our family have been breeding for in excess of 30 years. We believe in ethical treatment of animals, having owned a pastured, free range egg company in the past. We have both grown up with dogs and Love having them around and wanted to…
