Montys Moodles
Hi, I'm Jo S.
A small boutique pet breeder on the South Coast of NSW. As a registered and ethical breeder with AAPDB, I am passionate about providing families with a healthy, happy puppy (including full DNA testing of parents). I pride myself on my communication with new owners and offer ongoing support and guidance for as long as they need me. We believe in matching the right puppies with the right families, so for this reason we do not let people choose their puppy (or the puppy choose them lol) until they are 5-7 weeks of age. Please note, I am unlikely to have any puppies available until approx July 2021 and onwards but we have some exciting litters planned for the second half of that year.

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Monty's moodle pups are given the best start possible to life. Initially, we focus on 'early neurological stimulation' which research shows creates puppies / dogs who can handle stress better. After this, puppies are introduced to a range of stimuli, including physical, visual and auditory, both inside and out and we have the coolest 'puppy fun zones' ever. Puppies are handled regularly by myself and my 3 children and interact…
Health
All Monty's moodles breeding dogs are dna tested for all possible breed related genetic diseases to give peace of mind to our buyers. We offer a 12 month health guarantee on our puppies (meaning you will get a full refund if you return the puppy or cost of veterinary bills up to the purchase price should you choose to keep it, if the puppy is seen as 'unacceptable for health reasons' by a veterinarian).
Home environment
We live on a gorgeous acreage on the south coast of NSW. All my dogs and puppies are treated as valued / loved members of our family or are given homes by carefully selected 'guardian' families', meaning they have their loving forever homes from word go. Our love for our dogs is deep and for this reason, we offer a 'lifetime' rehoming policy on all the puppies we sell. We will either keep the dog or find another suitable, loving home…
Included with our puppies
I provide all my puppy parents with a comprehensive folder of puppy and training information, as well as a small bag of food and Australian-made liver treats to get them started. I also include either a Zippy Paws interactive toy, or a HeartBeat Lamb to settle them at night. I pack a blanket that smells like their mum and siblings, a little pack of Kong balls, and a Lickimat (a great slow-feeder toy). We also include our dog Monty's…

Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis VI (MPS VI) is a genetic lysosomal storage disease affecting Miniature Pinschers. It causes various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in dogs is a type of genetic eye disease causing deterioration of the retina and eventually, blindness. It can occur in various breeds. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
About the Breeder
A little about us
I am lucky enough to live on a large property on the beautiful South Coast of NSW with a husband and my 3 gorgeous children (aged 10, 11 and 12) which has allowed me to fulfil my life long dream to become a dog 'breeder'. Breeding is my biggest passion in life and is, by far, my favourite thing to spend time doing. I am also a BAS Agent which fits in perfectly with my breeding as I work from home and can put as much time and energy into my dogs and puppies as needed.
Why we got involved in breeding
My husband was never a 'doggy' person and it took quite a lot of convincing before he finally agreed to me getting our first puppy. Due to his pedantic clean nature, I researched breeds that were low shedding and easy going, which is when i discovered moodles. This is when we bought 'Monty' the moodle and within 2 weeks of owning him my husband was completely besotted and the dog has been 'his' dog ever since. I decided that any breed of dog that could turn my husband into a dog lover, was definitely something special. And the rest is history - 7 dogs later, these special babies are part of our family and we get to bring the same joy and love that we experienced into so many other families which is the most rewarding job ever.
Our special touch
As a full member of the AAPDB, I follow their high ethical standards, including having a very thorough yearly vet audit done on my property, administration and dogs. I continually challenge myself as a breeder to learn more and extend my knowledge. Through reading / researching and collaborating with other breeders / vets, I believe I have gained (and will continue to gain)an excellent understanding of dog behaviour / training and good breeding practices. I pride myself on the communication and support I offer my puppies' families, going above and beyond to make sure the puppies transition to their new families goes as smoothly as possible. Not only do I supply a comprehensive written guide to caring for and training your new puppy, I also continue to support families for as long as they need it after they take their special bundle home. This is not just a 'transaction' for me, each new family is welcomed into the 'Montys Moodles' family (we even have our own dedicated facebook page so people can catch up with siblings and share ideas / stories or concerns with other 'Montys Moodle' owners).
