Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our puppies are raised in our house, they interact with us and as they grow we introduce our grand children and then our other chows.
Health
Our puppies puppies are wormed every two weeks from birth and weighed regularly, to make sure every one growing and getting equal amount of milk and later food. All our puppies will be immunised, wormed, microchipped and vet checked with DNA testing and with pedigree papers
Home environment
The first few weeks the puppies remain with the mother, they are kept together in their own room to help every one settle in. We are the only ones near the puppies as this allows mum and babies to develop together.
Included with our puppies
All our puppies will be immunised , wormed . micro-chipped and vet checked with D.N.A testing and with pedigree papers
Health Tests
Core Tests(0/2)
MOONACRE CHOW CHOWS conducts 0 out of 2 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Chow Chow.
Additional Tests
MOONACRE CHOW CHOWS conducts 2 additional tests available for the Chow Chow.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
