Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
We expose our puppies to a multitude of different environments and people. Our puppies are raised in our home, have access to our other dogs and our farm animals.
Health
We have been health testing our dogs for decades, attempting to reduce the risk of diseases which affect their health. Our main focus at the moment is on DNA testing for degenerative myelopathy (DM) and vom Willibrand's disease. In recent years DNA testing has allowed us to breed dogs that cannot develop these…
Home environment
The dogs and us have a wonderful life on our 340 acre property just outside of Oberon NSW where there are plenty of opportunities to run and play in the paddocks, the Campbells River and our large dams.
Included with our puppies
We occasionally have puppies available to suitable new homes and go to considerable lengths to prepare them for the best possible adjustment to their new lives. All dogs that leave us are happy, healthy and emotionally secure. They are not available to anyone who cannot provide them with the same level of care, love…
Health Tests
Core Tests(0/1)
Nireno Pembroke Corgis conducts 0 out of 1 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Corgi (Pembroke Welsh).
Additional Tests
Nireno Pembroke Corgis conducts 2 additional tests available for the Corgi (Pembroke Welsh).
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) is a genetic condition mainly affecting Retrievers and Spaniels. It results in the dog collapsing after periods of intense exercise, even if they are normally able to cope with lower levels of exercise. There is a DNA test available which can indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

About the Breeder
A little about us
Nireno is primarily a partnership between mother and son team Caron McGregor and Andrew Morrison but we couldn’t achieve our dream without the support of a fantastic group of people both in Australia and overseas. In Australia we have the help of Linda and Ian Olsen (Goldbrior Golden Retrievers) when we need to…
Why we got involved in breeding
Our aim is to breed healthy, happy, attractive Welsh Pembroke Corgis - ideally suited for all purposes and environments. We love Welsh Pembroke Corgis, and our goal is always to breed to the correct standard, the right temperament, with healthy outcomes for showing, herding or simply just as a family dog.
