There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.

Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.

A little about us
I am a mum of four and a part time primary school teacher. I have been breeding miniature dachshunds for 4 years and it has been a dream come true. It is my aim to breed and raise happy, confident puppies who tick all the genetic traits of this wonderful breed.
Why we got involved in breeding
Bringing joy and happiness into the lives of our puppies' future families gives me butterflies no matter how many times I have done it. Knowing that these puppies will be confident and make wonderful new family members makes my heart happy.

We started raising our first miniature dachshund in 2021.
Applying for a puppy
A puppy pack will be included with a bag of Hypro premium puppy food as well as a sample of Lyka food. A toy and blanket with the scent of mum and litter mates, as well as a collar and lead are also included. There will be a letter which will include information on what to expect for the first few nights of puppy's new home, crate and toilet training tips along with feeding recommendations, and most importantly, my contact details as I'm here to help for the life of the puppies.
