Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
All puppies are started on Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) from 3 days old to increase their tolerance to mild stressors. They proceed to sound and environment desensitisation from 3 weeks of age. Puppies become accustomed to household noises and activities; are pen/crate trained; toilet training commences…
Health
All parents are DNA and Hip and Elbow tested prior to pregnancy planning. They are kept on a nutritious diet prior to mating and throughout the pregnancy and whelping for Mum. Vet checks are completed prior to 7 weeks of age.
Home environment
Puppies grow up in a semi rural environment, within the house. They are part of our family until they find their furever home. They are exposed to all household activities and noises; playing in a pen for puppy time; older dogs; running in the paddocks; chickens; training of simply commands ie; recall; sit.
Included with our puppies
Puppy Parents have been trained as therapy dogs and the temperament of our puppies reflects this. Puppies move to their new homes with a health guarantee; current food samples; blanket with familiar smells; familiar toy; routine information; growth information.

Genetic Test
Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome (CMS) is genetic disease that causes extreme muscle weakness after just a short amount of exercise. It can result in puppies or dogs who collapse after only five to thirty minutes of exercise. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Canine Elliptocytosis is a rare genetic disease causing the red blood cells to be abnormally elliptical in shape, rather than round. It generally does not cause a clinical problem to affected dogs, but puppies may be mildly anaemic and smaller than others. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Centronuclear myopathy (CNM), is a genetic muscle disease that occurs in Labradors. A DNA test is available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Congenital Macrothrombocytopenia (CM) is a mild disease which normally does not have any impact on an affected dog’s health or lifespan but can cause concern if noticed on routine bloodwork without knowing the cause. It is a blood disease resulting in low numbers of very large platelets. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Macular Corneal Dystrophy (MCD) is a rare genetic eye disease that has been identified in Labradors. It causes cloudy eyes and potential vision impairment. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder
A little about us
I began breeding after finding my first Chocolate Labrador Darcie. She became a therapy dog and had such an amazing capacity to assist trauma survivors that I decided she would be a perfect candidate for breeding. Her daughter was Frankie and again, a beautiful, cheeky nature and so gentle with little people. I have…
Why we got involved in breeding
I had always wanted a Labrador. My first purchase was a cross Golden Retriever and Kelpie and she looked like a black Lab when she was a puppy. Her temperament and helping capacity prompted me to purchase a pure Labrador and I have continued to build a team of Labrador therapy dogs and breeding females.
Our special touch
I work with my pups from birth. From 3 days of age, I start Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction, moving to sound desensitisation at 21 days; toilet training and obstacle/surface introduction starts at 6-7 weeks. All aspects combined helps to create a resilient, confident puppy that is…
