Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our Puppies will be brought up in a home environment and will be well socialised with younger and older children as well as 3 x cats and wild birds. We will also begin toilet training to make an easier transition.
Health
Our Puppies are DNA tested through parentage, wormed, microchipped and vet checked prior to leaving for their forever home. They will only be fed a premium diet of raw food and Royal Canin biscuits. All puppies will come with 6 weeks' complimentary pet insurance.
Home environment
Our Puppies will spend a lot of time in our home as well as outside in a large secured yard. Our dachshunds sleep inside with our family.
Included with our puppies
You will receive a puppy pack with all the essentials to get you through the first few weeks to make the transition as smooth as possible. Eg. Pee pads, worm prevention, deer antler, cow hoof, harness, collar and leash, and a bag of premium puppy food, as well as a blanket that smells like mum.

Additional Tests

Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.

Why we got involved in breeding
Once I purchased my first dachshund Diego almost 4 years ago I fell absolutely in love. I want to be able to give others that feeling only dachshund owners can experience and understand. With so many coat and colour variations it is hard to resist not owning more than one !
