Canine Elliptocytosis is a rare genetic disease causing the red blood cells to be abnormally elliptical in shape, rather than round. It generally does not cause a clinical problem to affected dogs, but puppies may be mildly anaemic and smaller than others. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

dna iconGenetic Test

Congenital Macrothrombocytopenia (CM) is a mild disease which normally does not have any impact on an affected dog’s health or lifespan but can cause concern if noticed on routine bloodwork without knowing the cause. It is a blood disease resulting in low numbers of very large platelets. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

This is a genetic condition affecting Cavalier King Charles Spaniels that causes severe skin, nail and eye issues, as well as making the usually long smooth coat tight and curly. Curly Coat is linked to Congenital Dry Eye disease. There is a DNA test available to identify if breeding Cavaliers are carrying Congenital Dry Eye or Curly Coat.

Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome is a genetic cause of eye and skin problems in Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies. The disease also caused an unsually tight curly coat texture. There is a DNA test available to identify if breeding Cavaliers are carrying the gene for Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome.

About the Breeder

A little about us

I am an ethical dog breeder driven by a genuine love for our canine companions. Committed to responsible breeding practices, I prioritise the well-being and health of my dogs. With a focus on learning and staying informed about developing breed standards and genetics, I aim to produce happy, healthy puppies that…

Why we got involved in breeding

I needed to be doing more of the things I enjoy and something meaningful for society. Breeding dogs to improve the quality of the chosen breed was high on my agenda ever since I went searching for my first dog and found that quality was lacking. I aim to make new blood lines available to Cavoodle breeders in Australia.

Our special touch

The puppies I breed grow up 100% indoors for the first 6 weeks and afterwards spend several hours in a suitable secure outdoor area in a large suburban backyard. My pups are well socialised with my young children and visiting adults. My pups are introduced to the sound and vibration of hair clippers and other sounds…
