Behaviour and socialisation

We are a family and live in a family home with our two female dogs Milo and Tilly. Our pups grow up with their mum, our other female cocker spaniel, our tabby cat who is always curious with other animals, and our children. Pups have access to our secure and safe grassed backyard from 5 weeks of age, to play and…

Roslyn Cocker Spaniels conducts 3 additional tests available for the Cocker Spaniel.

dna iconGenetic Test

Acral Mutilation Syndrome (AMS) is a genetic disease that causes affected dogs to compulsively lick, overgroom and bite their paws. This can cause recurrent injuries and infections. The condition can be extreme and even result in the dog being euthanised if the signs cannot be controlled.

dna iconGenetic Test

Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) is a genetic condition mainly affecting Retrievers and Spaniels. It results in the dog collapsing after periods of intense exercise, even if they are normally able to cope with lower levels of exercise. There is a DNA test available which can indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

dna iconGenetic Test

Canine Phosphofructokinase (PFK) Deficiency is a genetic disease resulting in low levels of the PFK enzyme. It can result in extreme muscle fatigue, muscle cramping and severe anaemia. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder

A little about us

We at Roslyn Cocker Spaniels are the owners of two amazing English Cocker Spaniel girls. We are micro-breeders, so we do not own a kennel but rather have our girls live with us as normal pets. We are based in Warrnambool which is on the South West Coast of Victoria. Our girls are health tested (Orivet) and are in…

Why we got involved in breeding

I was raised with parents who bred and showed Springer Spaniels, so you could say that breeding is in my blood. I bred my cocker spaniel Sadie in 2002 and 2004 after I began living on my own as I missed the Springer Spaniels my parents owned and bred. After a rest from breeding due to career and family commitments I…

Our special touch

We provide a transparent and professional adoption process. Any potential owners are placed into our FaceBook Group and given regular updates on our girls and any pups that might arrive. We have health tested our girls to ensure they are genetically healthy (Orivet tested) and as well, provide information on vet…
