Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
As soon as puppies open their eyes and ears they are desensitised to the sights and loud sounds (such as vacuums, fireworks and thunder). Puppies are raised inside the home around four children, they spend the first 3-4 weeks in a designated whelping area (a converted large walk in wardrobe so we can keep them close by and temperature controlled) before introducing them to the rest of the house where they are slowly introduced to family…
Health
Skye Terriers are a hardy breed with a long (up to 15 years) lifespan. I ultrasound the kidneys of all my dogs to screen for any potential renal dysplasia. I perform all health tests relevant to the breed, vaccine and flea/tick/worm prevention treatments. I have tried my dogs on many diets over the years (from raw to meat to dry kibble) and have found Purina Pro Plan to be the best to preserve their shiny thick coat. I ween all pups…
Home environment
We live on a 1500 sqm block within a small village close by to walking trails and dog parks. I offer a local grooming service for dogs within the neighbourhood in the large garage at my home.
Included with our puppies
I provide new owners with their puppy registrations, microchipping and all vaccination papers. I have created a folder with lots of relevant important health and contact information as well as care tips and suggestions. My puppies leave with a bandana, lots of chew toys and treats, some purina food, a brush and comb and a travel water container for their journey home. I also offer free grooming services to all Skye Terriers who live…

About the Breeder
A little about us
I’m Tish, a mum of 4 and small business owner called The Tish Touch Professional Pet Styling where I bathe, style and groom all dogs in my local area. I am proud to boast being the first ANKC member to take the first intake exams for Responsible Breeding, having a keen interest in veterinary science and a very supportive husband.
Why we got involved in breeding
Breeding healthy, happy, sound Skye's is my passion. Since 1994 Skye’s have always been my best friend, right arm and I want to gift others with understanding and loving this true companion.
