Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Puppies are raised in the family home with children and other dogs. They are played with daily and taken outside to run, socialise and play with the other dogs we have here
Health
Puppies are wormed at 2,4,6 and 8 weeks of age. They are weaned onto a premium diet of Royal Canin puppy food. They start with wet food and progress to dry food. They are given a thorough health check by the vet at 6wks. At this check they are vaccinated, microchipped and have their heart, hips, knees and eyes…
Home environment
Puppies grow up indoors. They are kept snuggly warm in the whelping box until they reach 3-4wks of age. At this point they will start being introduced to the outside world during the day and bought back inside at night. They have grass to run and play on and other dogs to play with.
Included with our puppies
Puppies come with all vaccination records. Royal canin puppy kibble and Lyka fresh dog food (if picked up).
Health Tests
Core Tests(0/1)
Spinning Hill Cavaliers conducts 0 out of 1 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Additional Tests
Spinning Hill Cavaliers conducts 4 additional tests available for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Genetic Test
Congenital Macrothrombocytopenia (CM) is a mild disease which normally does not have any impact on an affected dog’s health or lifespan but can cause concern if noticed on routine bloodwork without knowing the cause. It is a blood disease resulting in low numbers of very large platelets. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome is a genetic cause of eye and skin problems in Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies. The disease also caused an unsually tight curly coat texture. There is a DNA test available to identify if breeding Cavaliers are carrying the gene for Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
This is a genetic neurological condition affecting Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. It causes sudden stiffening of the legs, often causing the dog to fall over and be unable to move. There is a DNA test available to indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease. The test is also recommended in Cavoodles.

About the Breeder
A little about us
I’m a stay at home mum and spend plenty of time with my four legged family. I have two children aged 4 and 2yrs who also love to spend time with the dogs. My dogs are considered part of the family and treated as such. They spend equal amounts of time inside and outside.
Why we got involved in breeding
I started breeding cavalier King Charles spaniels as I love the breed and thoroughly enjoy having them As part of my family. It’s important to me that the breed is improved and I strive to produce quality pups. All dogs are DNA tested prior to entering my breeding program
Our special touch
I strive to ensure all puppies are raised in a happy healthy environment. They are well socialised with adults, children and other dogs. I start their crate training prior to them leaving home and am happy to send them off with a blanket that has their mother and siblings scent on it to assist with their transition…
