Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
I rear my puppies on Puppy Culture protocols. They leave at ten weeks and will have the basics of toilet training, lead walking, crate training, Manding for polite manners and will be well accustomed to clippers and grooming. We live on a small farm and will be well socialised with many different animals. I take them…
Health
All my dogs have been DNA tested for any genetic diseases or faults. They all have current eye clearance certificates from examinations from a canine ophthalmologist specialist. They are wormed and vaccinated regularly. My puppies will leave with their first and second vaccinations and they are wormed from two weeks…
Home environment
We have no kennels and all dogs and puppies live in our home. Our adult dogs have open crates with beds in them but they choose to sleep on our bed. We live on a small farm and we have an acre of fully fenced gardens for the dogs and puppies to roam in. The puppy area has underfloor heating as we live in a cool…
Included with our puppies
The puppies leave with a comprehensive folder with information on feeding, history and information on the breed, hints on training and toilet training, do's and don't's, pedigree certificates registered with ANKC. I give lifetime support and have a contract if unexpected circumstances happen and the dog can no longer…

Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a heart disease causing an enlarged heart with stretched heart muscle. Affected dogs are high risk of developing life-threatening heart failure as the abnormal heart cannot beat as effectively. There is a genetic test in some breeds to show if a breeding dog is predisposed to DCM.
Physical Test
An eye certificate means the breeder has had their breeding dogs examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist, to confirm they are not affected by any eye conditions which may be passed down genetically to their puppies. If relevant for the breed, it also includes running DNA tests to confirm the dog is not a genetic carrier of hereditary eye diseases, such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It includes breeders who have participated in the Australian Canine Eye Scheme (ACES).
Genetic Test
This is a genetic disease that affects a variety of breeds. It causes a blood clotting problem resulting in excessive bleeding. There is a DNA test available to ensure a breeding dog will not pass this condition on their puppies.
Genetic Test
Persistent Mullerian Duct Syndrome (MDS) is a condition where a male animal, with normal male genitalia, also possesses a uterus and fallopian tubes. This is caused by an error in development of the reproductive tract in early embryonic development. The condition is often discovered by accident during abdominal surgery. There is a DNA test available to identify if a dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Myotonia Hereditaria/Congenita is a genetic disease that causes muscle problems resulting in a stiff gait and difficulty swallowing. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Spondylocostal Dysostosis (SD, or ‘Comma Defect’), is a genetic growth disorder causing spinal and rib malformations. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

Why we got involved in breeding
I have always lived on small farms and have been involved with breeding cows, goats and horses. I bred German Shepherds previously and wanted a smaller dog to invest in as I got older. always been an animal lover and loved breeding.
Our special touch
My special touch would have to be working with every individual pup to help them be the best they can be.
