Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our amazing Puppy Culture program helps us to develop mentally and emotionally healthy, resillent and happy puppies.
Health
All parents are genetically tested and cleared. Our puppies thrive in our warm and loving care and we worm our puppies regularly. All are vet checked, microchipped, and vaccinated before they leave.
Home environment
Connection is everything with our puppies. They are in the hub of our home from the moment of birth...and have contact with other dogs and kind children too.
Included with our puppies
A puppy pack is given with local QLD people who can visit and pick up puppies. All new owners get vet records and support in their new endeavour.

Genetic Test
Congenital eye malformations in Golden Retrievers result from a mutation of the SIX6 gene. These malformations can present as a range of different eye conditions, ranging from poor vision to blindness in one or both eyes. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying the affected gene.

This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

GM2 gangliosidosis is a lysosomal storage disorder that causes neurological problems. There are a few different types of this disease affecting different breeds. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
This is a serious genetic skin disease that causes flaky dry skin and footpad problems. It can occur in many breeds but is fairly common in Golden Retrievers. There is a DNA test to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease and could pass it on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
Genetic Test
Von Willebrand’s Disease (VWD/vWD) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by a lack of a specific clotting factor. There are three forms of the disease, types 1, 2 & 3. A DNA test is available for each type of VWD to identify whether a breeding dog is a carrier or might be affected. The severity of VWD varies widely between breeds and individuals, ranging from life threatening, through to having no impact on clotting ability.

About the Breeder
A little about us
I have been breeding for over two decades, our puppies are surrounded by children and thrive with lots of love!
Why we got involved in breeding
I am passionate about breeding dogs as best friends and for families. Finding a DAD dog (Diabetes Alert Dog) brought us down the road to Groodles, and we have never looked back
Our special touch
My Groodles are all over Australia - in a GP practice, at a school, in therapy roles and in medical alert roles. They also make for wonderful pets and families are starting to come back to us, for their second dogs
