Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
All of our puppies are raised in a loving family environment alongside young children and larger breed dogs, giving them plenty of opportunities to develop into confident, well-socialised companions. We believe in giving our puppies the very best start in life. Before leaving for their forever homes, we beginโฆ
Health
The health and wellbeing of our breeding dogs is our highest priority. All of our adult dogs are DNA tested for breed-relevant genetic conditions before entering our breeding program. To ensure they remain healthy and sound throughout their breeding careers, each of our breeding dogs also undergoes regularโฆ
Home environment
Our puppies are raised inside our home as part of our family, where they experience the sights, sounds, and routines of everyday life from an early age. As they grow and develop, they also enjoy supervised time outdoors, where they are introduced to our larger dogs and chickens. These experiences help build theirโฆ

Health Tests
Core Tests(0/2)
Tees Miniature Dachshunds conducts 0 out of 2 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Miniature Dachshund.
Additional Tests
Tees Miniature Dachshunds conducts 3 additional tests available for the Miniature Dachshund.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as โbrittle bone diseaseโ, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
Genetic Test
Sarcoglycan Deficient Muscular Dystrophy (SDMD) is a genetic disease causing a stiff gait, exercise intolerance and difficulty swallowing in young Miniature Dachshunds. There is now a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

About the Breeder
A little about us
Welcome to Tees Mini Dachshunds! I'm Taylor, the breeder behind Tees Mini Dachshunds, based in Mount Isa, Queensland. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and I feel incredibly fortunate to spend each day doing something I genuinely love. My passion is breeding healthy, well-tempered Miniature Long Hairedโฆ
Why we got involved in breeding
I became involved in breeding because of my love for dogs and the incredible joy they bring to our lives. After spending eight years breeding Australian Cattle Dogs, I discovered the wonderful nature of Miniature Long Haired Dachshunds and quickly fell in love with their affectionate personalities, loyalty, and charmโฆ
Our special touch
At Tees Mini Dachshunds, I believe my special touch is the amount of time, love, and dedication I invest in every puppy from the day they are born until the day they leave for their forever home. My puppies aren't raised in kennelsโthey're raised inside our home as part of our family. They grow up around youngโฆ
