Hi, I'm Charmaine A.
Alongside our team of Tibetan Mastiffs, we have owned and shown Shiba Inu for several years. We have a lovely family of Shibas we share our home with, including one stunning male imported from Japan, five Temzin bred girls and our elderly Shiba boy. We take pride in showing our Shibas and so far all our team have…

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Puppies are reared in our home environment, socialised, collar & lead trained and toilet trained (outside on grass) before they go into their new homes. We encourage different families to come visit at our home to help with socialisation, until they are vaccinated enough to take them out. At 7-8 weeks old, I will…
Health
All pups have the standard vaccination and micro-chipping at 6 weeks, and are wormed every 2 weeks. They vet checked at six weeks, and then again before they leave (if travelling interstate or overseas). Our local vets come to us, to prevent any risk of contamination. We also carry out a number of health tests on our…
Home environment
All my Shiba puppies are whelped inside our family home, and I ensure that mums and babies are given all the care they need. As they grow, the Shiba pups have free access to a big lawn at our farm property where they can play around, which also helps with toilet training.
Included with our puppies
We send home a whole take-home bag, which includes a Puppy Folder (with all their certificates, their vaccination, microchip details, recommendation for feeding and care, and a reminder of our policy of lifetime support). We include a piece of their bedding for a familiar smell, and some toys they've been playing…

Physical Test
An eye certificate means the breeder has had their breeding dogs examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist, to confirm they are not affected by any eye conditions which may be passed down genetically to their puppies. If relevant for the breed, it also includes running DNA tests to confirm the dog is not a genetic carrier of hereditary eye diseases, such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It includes breeders who have participated in the Australian Canine Eye Scheme (ACES).

About the Breeder
A little about us
My husband, Tony and I live on a large cattle farm in rural Victoria, Australia after moving here from New Zealand in 1996. We love the magnificent Tibetan Mastiff and the Shiba Inu so much, wouldn't have it any other way!
Why we got involved in breeding
Before leaving NZ, we fell in love with a photo of a big black male Tibetan Mastiff we found in a dog book and after failing to find any breeders in New Zealand we waited until we had moved to Australia to resume our search again. In 1999, we finally found a litter that consisted of two puppies one of which was our…
Our special touch
We are preservation breeders, focusing on preserving the historical dog, but we also are really focused on temperament, and ensuring that we are breeding dogs that can fit into any modern day family home.
