We are a small breeder of miniature dachshunds located in Mount Isa .Our dogs and puppies are raised in our home as part of our family and raised with our children.

Our Breeding Practices

Behaviour and socialisation

With 4 adult dogs and 7 humans in the house​,​ our puppies are very well socialised! We provide lots of enrichment such as toys including lick mats​, and puzzle toys.

Health

Our breeding dogs are all DNA tested and healthy. Puppies are vaccinated and wormed on schedule. We feed our adult dogs and puppies varied diet​,​ including Royal Canin dry food along with fresh chicken and chicken tips.

Home environment

In our home​,​ our puppies are raised around normal day to day activities and are raised with our children and other family members. All our dogs are raised inside our home and sleep in our beds. We have a dedicated whelping box and pen which mum can access as she pleases. We have a doggy door that leads to…

There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.

Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
