Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our puppies are raised in a calm, hands-on environment and are handled daily from birth. As they grow, they are exposed to normal household activity, people and gentle environmental stimulation to build confidence. We introduce early routines, including separation of sleeping and toileting areas, to encourage clean…
Health
All breeding dogs are DNA tested through Orivet and are clear for relevant hereditary conditions including PRA. We focus on breeding from healthy, well-structured dogs with good temperaments. Puppies are regularly wormed, vet checked, vaccinated and microchipped prior to leaving. We monitor growth closely from birth…
Home environment
Our puppies are raised on a rural property in Central Tilba, where they have a clean, spacious and controlled environment to grow and develop. They begin life in a whelping area and are gradually introduced to a larger play and exercise space as they grow. This allows them to develop naturally while remaining safe…

Health Tests
Core Tests(0/3)
Blue Roan Cockers conducts 0 out of 3 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Cocker Spaniel.
Additional Tests
Blue Roan Cockers conducts 1 additional tests available for the Cocker Spaniel.
Physical Test
Dogs affected by patellar luxation have loose kneecaps that may pop in and out of the knee joint, which can be painful and even require surgery. Having a vet examine breeding dogs for patellar luxation can confirm the dog is not affected, and that their puppies are less likely to develop the condition. Patellar luxation is more common in smaller breeds.

Why we got involved in breeding
I’ve had Cocker Spaniels for over 20 years and have always loved the breed. After moving to the country post-COVID, I had the time to focus on breeding properly, and Pepper made that decision straightforward. She has an exceptional temperament, which is the foundation of my breeding program. I’ve since added Sophia…
Our special touch
Our puppies are raised with a strong focus on early development and routine. From around three weeks, we introduce clear separation between sleeping and toileting areas, which helps establish clean habits early and makes the transition into new homes easier. Raised on acreage, they are exposed to a range of natural…
