Behaviour and socialisation

Our puppies are raised in a home environment following the Puppy Culture Breeders Program and the Early Neurological Stimulation Program (ENS) to give them the best start to life.

Health

We follow the Dogs Victoria breeding Code of Conduct. Our breeding dogs are Hip and Elbow scored through the CHED scheme and Orivet DNA tested for hereditary diseases. Our puppies go to their new homes being vaccinated, microchipped and parasite treated.

Home environment

We live on a rural property in Waubra, Vic. Our dogs are our family and not raised in a kennel environment. Puppies and dogs are able to run and explore freely in a secured fenced environment on the property, with lots of areas to discover.

Canine Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency (CLAD), is a genetic blood disorder affecting Irish Setters and Red and White Irish Setters. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

This is a serious genetic skin disease that causes flaky dry skin and footpad problems. It can occur in many breeds but is fairly common in Golden Retrievers. There is a DNA test to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease and could pass it on to their puppies.

The MDR-1 gene (Multi-drug Resistance Gene 1) is responsible for producing proteins that protect the brain from harmful chemicals. Some breeds have a mutation in this gene resulting in them being dangerously sensitive to certain chemicals and drugs. It is recommended to test these breeding dogs for the MDR-1 mutation, so they do not pass on the sensitivity to their puppies.

Why we got involved in breeding

I've always loved the German Shepherd Dog's and wanted to breed healthy dogs to provide for families so they can enjoy the lovely breed itself.

Our special touch

I am a Veterinary Nurse and have a love for dog behaviour and training. I've been an owner of GSD's for 10 years.
