Newborn litter
Hi, I'm Annamari D.
Welcome To Zesty Cavaliers. I am a passionate breeder and love what I do. My dogs are part of our family and all live in the home with us. The puppies are born and raised in a homely family environment. I believe in raising puppies and dogs with a natural approach to improve the health of each dog and puppy.

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
I follow a program called Puppy Culture where we do a lot of extra work with our puppies. This include things like Early Neurological Stimulation, Startle Reflex Recovery, Introducing puppies to new experiences every day and much more. They are handled, cuddled and loved every day. We have friends with kids of all…
Health
My dogs are all raised and fed a balanced raw diet. I only use lines with great health behind the lines and are careful when choosing stud dogs for my girls. We also do the DNA testing for CCDE and EF, yearly heart certificates from cardiologist and a yearly Vet check for patellas and any other health related issues.
Home environment
Puppies are whelped and raised for the first three weeks in our spare bedroom, which is turned into my whelping room. The first week I usually sleep next to the newborn pups until they are all nice and strong and don't need assistance during the night to get to Mum to feed. At three weeks, they are moved into a puppy…
Included with our puppies
Puppies will go to their new homes with 2 weeks' food, blanket which puppy slept with for a night or two, 2 kong toys and a file with all the paperwork and extra information on how to care for the new puppy.
Health Tests
Core Tests(1/1)
Zesty Cavaliers conducts 1 out of 1 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Heart Certificate
Physical Test
A heart certificate indicates that a breeding dog has been screened for heart disease such as DCM…

Additional Tests
Zesty Cavaliers conducts 3 additional tests available for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Genetic Test
Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome is a genetic cause of eye and skin problems in Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies. The disease also caused an unsually tight curly coat texture. There is a DNA test available to identify if breeding Cavaliers are carrying the gene for Curly Coat Dry Eye Syndrome.
Genetic Test
This is a genetic neurological condition affecting Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. It causes sudden stiffening of the legs, often causing the dog to fall over and be unable to move. There is a DNA test available to indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease. The test is also recommended in Cavoodles.
Physical Test
An eye certificate means the breeder has had their breeding dogs examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist, to confirm they are not affected by any eye conditions which may be passed down genetically to their puppies. If relevant for the breed, it also includes running DNA tests to confirm the dog is not a genetic carrier of hereditary eye diseases, such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It includes breeders who have participated in the Australian Canine Eye Scheme (ACES).

About the Breeder
A little about us
I just love what I do. To experience the birth of a new life to the puppies opening their eyes, starting to hear, wobble, walking and onto running and playing. The unconditional love all these puppies give and the instant love the new families have in their eyes when the meet their new fur friend. It is just magical.
Why we got involved in breeding
It's a passion of my life.
Our special touch
Ensuring that each puppy is loved from the day they are born until they get their angel wings. I am always available for my puppy owners to answer questions, for guidance and advice where I have the knowledge to assist.
