There are so many reasons why I love breeding puppies, but one of the main ones is the joy they bring to new families through the relationships they build. Each puppy is very special to me & they are raised with the utmost of care. Letting go of puppies at 8 weeks of age is a very difficult process & I see it as my responsibility to ensure that families are educated to be well prepared & appropriate for their puppies. The smooth transition from Emerald Park to new homes is essential & my support is lifelong. I have a Science degree in Biology, so have an interest in all things plants & animals. As such I have an intrinsic need to keep up to date with current research in the raising of puppies, health, diet, training & more. I like to share this knowledge & enthusiasm with my "puppy families". Emerald Park dogs & puppies are fed a "fresh" diet. I am a certified raw food specialist with a strong desire to encourage best feeding practices within our Emerald Park Puppy Families. Health is a priority to me. It reaches far beyond genetic testing, into the background of our dogs, genetic diversity, excellent diet, fitness & environment. One my most important goals is to produce healthy, happy, well balanced, enrichment seeking puppies who live long lives. Emerald Park's dogs are family first. I have a very small number of breeding dogs as they are assured of a life with me beyond their short breeding years. It also ensures that I have the time to give the best in terms of nurturing & development to each puppy. It is very time consuming to raise puppies well. I do so using "Puppy Culture" protocols. I am very happy with the success of my use of Puppy Culture protocols to raise my puppies. As my main focus is on doing an excellent job with my puppies over their first 8 weeks, I have searched for a long time for a suitable Online Puppy School to assist my Puppy Families with the training of their puppies. While I do my best to assist my Puppy Families with their puppies; my area of expertise is in breeding & raising puppies. I'm not a professional dog trainer. Conforming to the Border Collie breed standard is important & is the backbone behind my breeding program. Consequently structure & temperament are always of importance to any breeding event.
