Hello, I'm Erika J.

WE ARE NOW LOCATED IN GYMPIE, QLD 4570 Welcome to Eureka Shepherds, a small, family-based German Shepherd breeder located on acreage on the outskirts of Gympie, Queensland. Our focus has always been on producing beautiful German Shepherds with sound, family-friendly temperaments first and foremost. We don't breed excessively or simply to produce puppies. Our litters are carefully considered, and we are incredibly fortunate to have built a wonderful following of families waiting to welcome a Eureka puppy into their homes. Our current breeding girl, Rubi, is a beautiful Black & Tan Long Stock Coat German Shepherd with a striking black mask. She is DNA cleared and comes from pedigree parents. Rubi is a wonderful combination of our retired girl Maggie and Hunter, carrying the qualities we loved in both of them. She has the classic German Shepherd loyalty and protective instinct while also being the fun-loving, affectionate goofball we adore about the breed. Rubi absolutely LOVES water and would happily spend her life in it — although given the choice, she is just as happy taking over our bed and soaking up as many human cuddles as possible! Our dogs are part of our family and everyday lives. We live on acreage surrounded by a working dairy farm, nature and wildlife, while directly across from a busy primary school. This gives our dogs and puppies exposure to the everyday sights and sounds of the real world — cars, trucks, children, cattle, wildlife, household activity and country life. How We Raise Our Puppies We take a holistic and practical approach to raising our dogs and puppies, with a strong focus on nutrition, health, appropriate development, socialisation and giving each puppy the best possible start. Our dogs are fed a balanced raw diet, and when our puppies begin weaning, their diet is individually adjusted for their age, developmental needs and current weight. We even travel approximately 2.5 hours each way to our raw-food supplier on the Gold Coast because we're particular about what goes into our dogs — and our puppies receive that same care. Where appropriate, we prefer to avoid unnecessary medications and chemicals. We utilise faecal testing to help guide parasite treatment rather than automatically treating when it isn't required, and we take a considered approach to vaccination timing in consultation with our veterinarian. Our puppies leave Eureka Shepherds with: Comprehensive veterinary health checks and age-appropriate preventative care DNA and pedigree information relevant to their parents 6 weeks to 6 months complimentary pet insurance, depending on the policy available at the time An extensive Eureka Shepherds puppy pack, including raw food to assist with transitioning to their new family's chosen diet Ongoing breeder support and advice Access to our private Eureka Shepherds Family Facebook community Private Facebook litter chats, allowing families to follow their puppies as they grow and connect with the other families from their litter Being located in Gympie also gives us straightforward highway access to Brisbane Airport, allowing us to help organise safe travel for suitable homes anywhere in Australia. For us, our involvement doesn't finish when a puppy leaves. We love watching our Eureka puppies grow into much-loved family members, and we're here for their families throughout their lives — whether that's for feeding advice, development questions, a bit of reassurance, or simply because we never get tired of receiving photos of the beautiful dogs they've become. ❤️ Eureka Shepherds — raised as family, for families.
