Hello, I'm Erika J.

WE HAVE MOVED TO THE WHITSUNDAYS, QLD 4800 Hi there, my name is Erika and together with my husband and 2 young boys (14 & 9), we have become Eureka Shepherds with our gorgeous, loving and loyal German Shepherds. Many a year ago my husband was a security guard and always had a German Shepherd by his side. With 2 young boys, he felt the time was right to surprise his family with a ball of energy, hilarious puppy who has become our serious, loyal goofball of a stud Hunter We have a large property and felt he needed another to run as fast as he does (the kids just can not keep up with him) and in came Bandit. Bandit has become my husbands wing girl! With a few injuries and sometimes bed ridden, Bandit has been with him at all times and has kept his spirits up when really needed. This was 1 of Brett's main reasons for getting another German Shepherd, was their absolute loyalty! They are super intelligent dogs and understand us more then we think! Not looking, but looking, we found our beautiful, sweet Maggie from Melbourne. My long stock coat girl that has melted all of our hearts and is an absolute gentle soul - unless your Hunter and does not share the ball lol Our whole family love the outdoors and are so very lucky to have 7 acres and local beaches to burn our energy on. Hunter and Maggie's daughter, Rubi, from 2nd litter (MH2-2021) whom we have kept for out next line, absolutely LOVES her swims! She has now learnt to swim on her own and not on poor mums back and Rubi will literally swim for hours in circles if she was allowed All of our German Shepherds are our family and not just pets, they are inside outside dogs at their pleasure but usually sit on our feet if we sit for long enough. They are boisterous but ever so gentle, they are protective and loyal and most of the time obedient lol with keeping Rubi who is now over 2 years (D.O.B - 06.06.21) rebelling a little just like her dad Hunter surely did at 11mths onwards Since our move to North QLD we have not found a supplier like we had on the gold coast to supply us with our raw food, we have had to bring in the kibble - 1st choice is Meals for Mutts but with their supply issues and inconsistency Black Hawk is their new favourite. I wean our pups onto raw 1st and foremost, I have brought in kibble early before and after our move will continue to give them a good 50/50 combination. This is the better option for their tummies and in balanced proportions better for their health and growth - I remember Maggie's latest litter of 14 pups we were going through roughly 5-12kg of food per day between 6-14 weeks of age I absolutely love every day with these dogs and their pups, every day is a new day and I continuously learn new things - from them, about their breed and from fellow breeders and friends. We may not be ANKC registered or show/titled dog breeders, but we are here to help the everyday family find their healthy forever dog who becomes a family member too. With DNA and health testing on our adults and neurological stimulation in the first days all the way through to home time of our puppies lives to try and desensitize them as much as possible to the world around them before heading to their new homes.
