Hello, I'm Kirra C.

My name is Kirra, and I am the breeder behind The Crazy Cockers and RiverGum Retrievers, located in the beautiful Lower Hunter Valley, NSW. My passion for dogs began long before breeding, leading me to pursue a career as a qualified veterinary nurse. Working within the veterinary industry has given me invaluable knowledge of canine health, welfare, genetics, and responsible breeding practices. It has also reinforced my belief that breeding should always be centred around the wellbeing of the dogs and the future families who welcome them into their homes. My mum has been my biggest inspiration throughout this journey. Her lifelong passion for animals helped shape my own, and from a young age she taught me the importance of compassion, responsibility, and always putting animal welfare first. I am incredibly grateful that she raised me surrounded by the beautiful animals we have today. I have had dogs in my life from the moment I was born, and I believe that says a lot about the person I have become and the passion I have for animals. I am incredibly fortunate to share this journey with her. I am incredibly proud of the dogs I breed, the families they join, and the lifelong relationships built along the way. For me, responsible breeding is about more than producing puppies it's about preserving and improving the breeds I love while ensuring every dog enjoys a happy, fulfilling life. Caring for animals has never felt like a job or hobby to me it is simply who I am.
