Hi, I'm Sharlene B.
At Apache Park we have been breeding Groodles for many years. In 2024 we made the exciting decision to import some amazing lines of Mini Bernedoodles into Australia. Whilst I am passionate about the Groodle, I felt the introduction of the Bernedoodle to create Golden Bernedoodles gives the pups a fantastic laid…

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
We believe that good temperament and early socialisation plays a pivotal role in the future lives of our pups. Our pups are raised using the Badass Breeder Puppy Raising curriculum, this sets them up for the best possible outcomes and to be well prepared and empowered when they go to their new families. We only…
Health
Our breeding dogs are all DNA tested through other Orivet, Embark or Animal Genetics. Even our frozen semen sourced from the USA is secured from fully OFA tested studs. All breeding dogs are either Hip & Elbow scored or PennHip tested.
Home environment
Our puppies are raised in our family home and can often be found snuggled up to us on the couch or laid in front of the fireplace on a cold day. During summer pups and mums have fully air-conditioned accomodation in the dedicated puppy room that is part of our house. Our fully fenced 10 acre property allows plenty…

Additional Tests
Apache Park Bernedoodles conducts 5 additional tests available for the Bernedoodle.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Physical Test
These breeders have had x-rays taken on their breeding dogs to assess the quality of their elbow joints. Dogs with very low ‘elbow scores’ are less likely to develop elbow problems in the future and less likely to pass hereditary elbow problems on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Hereditary Cataracts (HC) is a genetic form of cataracts. There is a DNA test available in some breeds to indicated whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE) is a brain disease that can occur in Standard Poodle puppies. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in dogs is a type of genetic eye disease causing deterioration of the retina and eventually, blindness. There are a variety of sub-types of PRA, which can occur in various breeds. There are various DNA tests available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder
A little about us
I have been breeding and showing dogs for approx 32 years.
Why we got involved in breeding
I started breeding when I was showing Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Naturally we wanted to title our own progeny and it progressed from there. As long as I have the passion it needs to continue breeding dogs I will keep doing so.
Our special touch
Time, Patience and Passion Each pup is raised with love and care, each pup is special. Our puppy owners are all part of our family and we love to keep in touch with each and every one to watch your journey.
