Hi, I'm Laura C.

Hello! I am a reward-based trainer breeding & raising quality labradors and cocker spaniels. All my dogs are fully health tested, and hip/elbow scored. My puppies go through ENS exercises, as well as scent exposure and sound desensitisation. I also spend time to build foundations in the puppies’ basic manners,…

Our Breeding Practices

Behaviour and socialisation

My puppies go through ENS exercises in their first weeks. After this, they are exposed to many noises including flapping bags, flags, sirens, traffic, animal sounds, musical instruments, crying children, and more. They are also introduced to different scents and surfaces, and allowed to explore them in their own…

Health

My puppies are fed a high-quality diet with variety to help their development. They are wormed every 2 weeks, and started on flea/tick prevention as soon as they are old enough. I also take a huge amount of time to ensure positive development of my puppies' mental health. I work hard to ensure that all…

Home environment

My puppies are raised indoors for the first approx. 3 weeks of their lives. After this, they are moved to an indoor-outdoor environment, with access to above ground bedding which is always dry and cosy. The mix of indoor and outdoor time for the puppies allows for their own physical, mental, and emotional…

Included with our puppies

All of my puppies come with a puppy pack to get you set up. The pack includes bedding which smells of their family, food, flea/tick/worming treatments, a few toys, food vouchers, and an extensive set of notes to help you get to know your new addition. Lifetime support comes as standard, and we have a very friendly…

Additional Tests

Aquam Amici Cocker Spaniels conducts 6 additional tests available for the Cocker Spaniel.

dna iconGenetic Test

Acral Mutilation Syndrome (AMS) is a genetic disease that causes affected dogs to compulsively lick, overgroom and bite their paws. This can cause recurrent injuries and infections. The condition can be extreme and even result in the dog being euthanised if the signs cannot be controlled.

dna iconGenetic Test

This is a rare genetic disease affecting Cocker Spaniels. It can cause wobbliness and incoordination in the hindlimbs, with eventual progression to paralysis and difficulty breathing. It usually only affects older dogs and progression is slow over several years. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

Bernard-Soulier Syndrome (BSS) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by abnormally large platelets in low numbers, meaning an affected animal cannot form clots properly after tissue damage. It can lead to life-threatening bleeding issues following surgery or injury. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) is a genetic condition mainly affecting Retrievers and Spaniels. It results in the dog collapsing after periods of intense exercise, even if they are normally able to cope with lower levels of exercise. There is a DNA test available which can indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

stethoscope iconPhysical Test

These breeders have had x-rays taken on their breeding dogs to assess the quality of their elbow joints. Dogs with very low ‘elbow scores’ are less likely to develop elbow problems in the future and less likely to pass hereditary elbow problems on to their puppies.

dna iconGenetic Test

Canine Phosphofructokinase (PFK) Deficiency is a genetic disease resulting in low levels of the PFK enzyme. It can result in extreme muscle fatigue, muscle cramping and severe anaemia. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder

A little about us

Hello! I am a reward-based dog trainer living in NSW. I love dogs, and always have, and I love spending my days with my dogs and puppies. I am constantly learning more about dogs, and their brilliance and intelligence always amazes me. My dogs all live in my house with me, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Why we got involved in breeding

The main reason I got into breeding was to try and improve on the initial experiences puppies have. I pride myself on raising healthy, level-headed, confident puppies with a positive outlook on life, and beautiful manners to top it all off. I firmly believe that the key to minimising potential mental/behavioural…

Our special touch

I work hard to find a balance between lots of attention/time, and independent development and confidence. My puppies love people and their company, however are comfortable to be left alone and are unlikely to develop separation issues. My puppies go through ENS exercises, and are exposed to many sights, sounds,…
