Hi, I'm Laura C.
Hello! I am a reward-based trainer breeding & raising quality labradors and cocker spaniels. All my dogs are DNA-tested (including AON for cocker spaniels), and hip/elbow scored. My puppies leave me at 10-12 weeks with basic manners, sleep training, toilet training foundations, and many positive experiences. I…

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
My puppies are exposed to many noises including flapping bags, flags, sirens, traffic, animal sounds, musical instruments, crying children, and more. They are also introduced to different surfaces, and allowed to explore them in their own time. My puppies meet many children and adults throughout their first weeks,…
Health
My puppies are fed a high-quality diet with variety to help their development. They are wormed every 2 weeks, and started on flea/tick prevention as soon as they are old enough. I also take a huge amount of time to ensure positive development of my puppies' mental health. I work hard to ensure that all…
Home environment
My puppies are born and raised indoors for the first 3 weeks. After this, they are moved to an indoor/outdoor environment, with access to above ground bedding which is always dry and cosy. The mix of indoor and outdoor time for the puppies allows for their own physical, mental, and emotional development to flourish…
Included with our puppies
All of my puppies come with a large puppy pack to get you set up. The pack includes a crate, bedding, food, flea/tick/worming treatments, a few toys, a snuffle mat, food vouchers, and an extensive set of notes to help you get to know your new addition. My puppies will have also had their microchipping and first TWO…

Additional Tests
Aquam Amici Cocker Spaniels conducts 6 additional tests available for the Cocker Spaniel.
Genetic Test
Acral Mutilation Syndrome (AMS) is a genetic disease that causes affected dogs to compulsively lick, overgroom and bite their paws. This can cause recurrent injuries and infections. The condition can be extreme and even result in the dog being euthanised if the signs cannot be controlled.
Genetic Test
This is a rare genetic disease affecting Cocker Spaniels. It can cause wobbliness and incoordination in the hindlimbs, with eventual progression to paralysis and difficulty breathing. It usually only affects older dogs and progression is slow over several years. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Bernard-Soulier Syndrome (BSS) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by abnormally large platelets in low numbers, meaning an affected animal cannot form clots properly after tissue damage. It can lead to life-threatening bleeding issues following surgery or injury. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) is a genetic condition mainly affecting Retrievers and Spaniels. It results in the dog collapsing after periods of intense exercise, even if they are normally able to cope with lower levels of exercise. There is a DNA test available which can indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Physical Test
These breeders have had x-rays taken on their breeding dogs to assess the quality of their elbow joints. Dogs with very low ‘elbow scores’ are less likely to develop elbow problems in the future and less likely to pass hereditary elbow problems on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Canine Phosphofructokinase (PFK) Deficiency is a genetic disease resulting in low levels of the PFK enzyme. It can result in extreme muscle fatigue, muscle cramping and severe anaemia. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder
A little about us
Hello! I am a reward-based dog trainer living on the NSW south coast. I love dogs, and always have, and I love spending my days with my dogs and puppies. I am constantly learning more about dogs, and their brilliance and intelligence always amazes me. My dogs all live in my house with me, and I wouldn't have it any…
Why we got involved in breeding
The main reason I got into breeding was to try and improve on the initial experiences puppies have. I pride myself on raising healthy, level-headed, confident puppies with a positive outlook on life, and beautiful manners to top it all off. I firmly believe that the key to minimising potential mental/behavioural…
Our special touch
I work hard to find a balance between lots of attention/time, and independent development and confidence. My puppies love people and their company, however are comfortable to be left alone and are unlikely to develop separation issues. My puppies will also go home with you, and sleep through the night right from the…
