Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Puppies are socialised to make sure the transition to their new families are as smooth as possible. Puppies are bought up within our family environment and also introduced to sensory toys at different stages. They are exposed to our other dachshunds, larger dog and horses.
Health
All our dogs are DNA tested through Orivet with a full breed profile. Puppies are clear through parents dna testing, wormed, microchipped, vaccinated and come with a puppy pack to help them transition into their new home.
Home environment
Our dogs are brought up on our farm where there is heaps of space for them to run and explore. From birth puppies are brought up in our home. Puppy areas are cleaned daily if not twice daily.
Included with our puppies
Each puppy comes with a puppy pack which includes puppy food (foods that they have been on with us) acceptable puppy chews/treats, toys, a blanket from mum and siblings and collar.
Health Tests

Additional Tests

Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
Genetic Test
Sarcoglycan Deficient Muscular Dystrophy (SDMD) is a genetic disease causing a stiff gait, exercise intolerance and difficulty swallowing in young Miniature Dachshunds. There is now a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

About the Breeder
A little about us
I have always loved dachshunds and my husband bought me my first dachshund Rusty in 2018. I absolutely fell inlove with him and the breed.
Why we got involved in breeding
After getting my own dachshund and falling inlove with the breed I started researching and decided that I wanted to breed correct, beautiful natured pups for others to also love.
Our special touch
Our puppies are brought up in our family environment and also on our rural property. We believe that this gives our pups the best start.
