Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
We only have Cocker Spaniels, it is a breed we feel very passionately about. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for our Mumma and her newborns inside my own bedroom, as our puppies grow we move them to our living area, giving them a large safe space (contained for their own safety where they will be exposed…
Health
Our CCC dogs and puppies are all in exceptional health and we work very closely with our vet to ensure this. DNA testing has been performed on all our mums and dads to ensure none of our puppies will be affected by any genetic conditions. Like any responsible breeder, a parasite (worming) control regime is in…
Home environment
All of our adult dogs live inside the house with us, they live freely and unrestricted, sleeping in our beds, snuggling on the couch watching tv with us, and swimming in the pool on hot days. Out home is set on 8 acres, of which the dogs have a safe 2 acres of dog proof fencing, and dog doors on three of our entry…

Acral Mutilation Syndrome (AMS) is a genetic disease that causes affected dogs to compulsively lick, overgroom and bite their paws. This can cause recurrent injuries and infections. The condition can be extreme and even result in the dog being euthanised if the signs cannot be controlled.
Genetic Test
Bernard-Soulier Syndrome (BSS) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by abnormally large platelets in low numbers, meaning an affected animal cannot form clots properly after tissue damage. It can lead to life-threatening bleeding issues following surgery or injury. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) is a genetic condition mainly affecting Retrievers and Spaniels. It results in the dog collapsing after periods of intense exercise, even if they are normally able to cope with lower levels of exercise. There is a DNA test available which can indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Canine Phosphofructokinase (PFK) Deficiency is a genetic disease resulting in low levels of the PFK enzyme. It can result in extreme muscle fatigue, muscle cramping and severe anaemia. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
