Duncairn Norwich Terriers
Captains Flat, NSW
Hi, I'm Kathryn S.
Duncairn is a small kennel in NSW, near ACT. I occasionally breed litters but only ever one litter at a time, as I believe it is important to focus on one litter and provide quality time to the puppies. I encourage all prospective puppy owners to come and meet me and my dogs. Puppies are raised in the house with…

Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
All litters are carefully planned. My focus is on quality not quantity. Puppies are raised in my home in a happy environment. Puppies are potty trained to use a 'pet loo'. All my dogs run in my yard as a pack and are allowed to be dogs. My dogs are pets first, show dogs second. I follow the Puppy Culture program.
Health
All parents are health checked and only sound dogs are bred from. Puppies are health checked by my vet.
Home environment
Puppies are raised in the home. My puppy pen and whelping box are in the lounge room where they are exposed to the sounds and smells of a household. A pet loo is placed in the pen as soon as puppies are walking. Puppies learn very early to use the loo, which makes house training so much easier. Through large windows…

About the Breeder
A little about us
In 2002, I decided that after 15 years of serving my country in the Royal Australian Navy, I wanted to have a lifestyle change. I wanted to get a terrier and try my hand at dog showing. Prior to joining the Navy, I had worked on horse studs, breeding, showing and working with performance horses. I completed a two…
Why we got involved in breeding
A natural progression from showing my dogs, I decided to breed my dogs and give others the opportunity to have wonderful dogs in their lives. Norwich terriers are a hidden treasure here! I am passionate about learning all I can about the breed and raising the profile of the breed here.
Our special touch
Duncairn is a small kennel set in a small village. I only keep a few dogs that run happily as a pack together. They are show dogs but also get to be a dog. They have full run of the yard and garden. My dogs are my family and as such, keeping a small number of dogs keeps it more personal. I work with the other…
